Hi all,
I'm no stranger to weight loss. I've been over weight my entire life and have started (and failed) more diets and plans I can count on all fingers and toes.. times two. On a whim earlier I decided to look at before and after pictures on the internet and came across this site. Eager to see some pictures I registered and was blown away by the results. I think it's finally my time to follow in you guys' steps and become a "legend" on the Before & After board. Problem is it SCARES me to death! I fear repeated failure. All I've ever known with weight loss was failure. I am currently a snug size 20 at 260-ish pounds. The smallest I've been in my adult life was very tight size 16, largest in highschool being borderline 24.
A quick bit about myself: I'm a Puerto Rican music addict, technology geek and avid gamer. (LOTS of curves being hidden by layers of fat!!
) This causes me to sit in one place for hours at a time moving barely anything but my fingers. I also work in an office environment for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. The most exercise I get at work is spinning my chair around to move a piece of paper to a file cabinet. After work I'll come home and play the Xbox, PS3 or play a game on the computer for the remainder of the night. This totals up to 15 or more hours a day sitting while barely moving. From November of 2009 until April 2010 I have put on close to 35 pounds. I do not want this lifestyle anymore.
Eating healthy is not a problem for me. My mother was very health-conscious growing up and fast food was considered a treat in my house. Now that I have my own source of money, fast food has become more than just a treat - it's become a staple in my diet. I have already begun making quick changes to this.
Sorry for the wall of text (I tend to get carried away
) and I look forward to getting to know you all and hearing your advice on my weight loss journey. Any advice is absolutely appreciated!!
