I'm super excited about this. I joined because I feel I need a bit more support, but definitely a ton more advice. I have met all the life goals I have set for myself for this time in my life, and so I am ready to embark on this one! I am 185 and want to weigh 150. In a couple weeks I am moving and going to join the gym and am soooo excited about it! My boyfriend gave me boxing gloves and a book on yoga, and I love swimming, so I'm really looking forward to this new step in my life. So here I am, and I'm ready for any advice you want to give. Also, if anyone has any swimming questions, I have been a swimmer for years, a lifeguard for 3 and an instructor for 4. Not that I'm an expert, but I love swimming and know a good bit.

:) Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of great people here with great advice and much needed support. It sounds like you are on the right path to a better and healthier you. I love to swim too but I can't afford to drive to the YMCA everyday/week to go swimming...but I make up for that in other exercises. Check out the Diary section. It's a great place to find tips and ideas. It also is a great why to keep track of what you have done so far and helps other know what you are doing right and wrong so that they can help you when you need it.

Good Luck!

Jenny

Hi Krys,
Welcome to the WLF :)

I'm just in from taking my daughter to her swim meet - we live, eat & breath swimming around here!

Best of luck to you - just know you CAN do this, just getting started is often the hardest part. Remember to take it one day at a time.

If you don't have a diet 'plan' as of yet, you might consider checking out or both are good resources for tracking calories, nutrition and fitness.

Remember not to go too low with your calories - you need to eat to lose!
