Hey!
It's nice to be able to share with everyone. I am currently at my highest weight. I have been detrimental to myself for the past two years and it has shown up on my body and in my mind. I feel as though if I'm not able to lose my weight at this point in my life, then it will only become exponentially more difficult in years to come. I hope I'm able to encourage all of you, as well as receive some support in return. I've never been more serious about becoming healthy. I quit smoking 4 months ago, and though I still want a smoke every day, I haven't given in. Also, I have cut out all soda and caffeinated drinks. I drink ONLY water. I have only noticed a difference in my skin. So...this brings me to why I'm here. I need to exercise and I need motivation, and I know that in order for me to succeed, I need to put pride aside and open up to others that could perhaps help me out. I appreciate all of you, and I'm looking forward to sharing my journey!

I'm new here as well (joined a couple weeks ago). You've taken a great first step in weight loss! For one, cutting out the soda's and other drinks, that's definately going to help!

There's a couple things you can do that may help you keep motivated and accountable. Starting a diary is one of those things. It helps keep you in check and is a great way to get support from people. The other thing would be to monitor your calories. An easy way to do that would be through this website: it's very easy to use (you just select the food you ate and it'll calculate the cal's for you). If you can't find something, you can add your own foods. Besides you can keep track of your fitness and much more on there. I hated counting calories until someone on this forum suggested that site. It really opens your eyes to your eating habits.

Thanks so much! I certainly will make use of the calorie counter you recommended and I just finished writing my first diary entry! Thank you for your advice, and I'm going to go check your diary out this moment :)

Welcome to the forum. I have met some wonderful people on here and it has really helped to be able to put my thoughts down about me, my eating habits and my weight loss. Sounds like your on the right track. Congratulations on quitting smoking!!!! It is so hard to do and with the constant cravings it is hard to stay away! Sounds like you are doing great!!!!
If you are only down to water you should check out some of the flavored water:) Some of them are soooo good. I love the lemon and the strawberry:D Good luck with your goals!
