Hi. This journey isn't going to be an easy one. I weigh 347 pds. I am embarrassed and of couse high risk health wise. I'm 35 and have a diet to follow from the doctor. I just pray that with some support from you all I can do it.

Anything you'd like to know about me please ask. Anything I can do to be a friend I will certainly try to do.

I Know You Can Do It!

thank you

Thank you for responding so fast everyone. I will start a diary and I am glad to have a place to share especially this time of year when depression and sadness seems to overwhelm me.

Hey I know how you feel I'm 25 5'8" and I was 292lbs (now 260lbs). Stick with it you can do it! I learned a long while not to hate yourself for how you look. You are you regardless of what you look like. You have to like yourself before you can improve how you look or you are doomed to failure! Hey I know its sound a load of old tosh but it's what one of my friends told me and it has helped me to lose what I have done!

Hey and welcome. You're in the right place -this forum is invaluable for support and advice, as somebody already mentioned it will help you to get back on track even if you feel it's going wrong. (Others success stories and pictures are really inspirational, too.) I know you have more weight to lose than I do but we are all in the same boat whatever our targets are, and having others who are going through the same thing to talk to is great.

If you feel so strongly about what you weigh try to use those feelings to drive you, that's what I've done. If I am having a day where I feel angry or bothered about how I look, after a few minutes I tell myself "well then get up and do something about it, sitting feeling sorry for yourself wont help and nobody else can do it for you". It's a real frame of mind to get into, but I find I can channel those feelings into motivation, almost an "I'll show them" kind of feeling.

I am doing better with my weightloss than I ever have in the past because of a few things; 1. I'm thinking long term, and about changing my ways for life rather than just "oh i need a diet". 2. This forum really does keep me on track and hopeful, and 3. because I've finally accepted that the only way to get how I want to be is through hard work, there's no other way and I can avoid it or get stuck in.

It's a long hard road but it's gotta be done if we want to change, and I really do think when I get to my target weight it will all be worth it. :)

I look forward to reading about your progress in your diary.

Hello, and welcome! You should feel comforted to know that everyone here is going through similar things to you. Admitting your weight problem is difficult, as I know all too well, but here there is plenty of support and advice when you need it. Start a diary, log your successes and thoughts. Best of luck :) :) :)
