I'm a newbie to this forum let alone any forum. I'm 25yrs old, 5'4" 160lbs, and my goal weight is 135lbs. I just got married and I don't want to be a wife who gains tons of weight once married. That is just one of the many reasons I want to loose weight. Here is my main problem, when I get home from work I just want to sit on the couch. I need help with motivating myself to be more active. Please let me in on any secrets to be motivated.
Thank You!!

Welcome giggles. (Cute name)

You've come to a good place I believe.

I totally understand being worn out after a full day at work. I"m much the same when i have a job.

Can you do any fitness in the mornings before work or during your lunch break?

If not, just do it on the weekend with only walking 30 minutes on workdays.

Its not to hard to find 30 minutes for walking. One really excellent tip that has been doing the rounds for a while is make your travel time to and from work exercise time by getting off the bus sooner and walking the rest of hte way or parking the car further from your train or whatever.

This would probably be the least disruptive way for you to get exercise in. But you have to be honest, if you want to do more fitness, you are going to have to make some effort to change your lifestyle habits. I mean you might have to get up a little earlier, or leave the house a little earlier, or not sit around the lunch room at lunch time.

If you have an hour for lunch, then you have time for fitness then. If you only have half an hour, you don't.

The earlier you can do it in the day the better its going to be for you and you will a lot better in your body too.

On the weekends, there are so many options. I would suggest opting for more recreational forms of exercise that you can do with your husband. Such as joining a bushwalking club or some sort of sporting activity club.

But if its just you on your own, allocate at least an hour and go out swimming, or running/walking, cycling. I mean the possibilities are endless.

Start a diary in the diary section and log your activities and efforts and issues there. We'll all support you.

Thanks for the advice! Definitely walking on my lunch we have a great hill by my work. We play volleyball once a week and we love to go hiking. We just have to push ourselves to actually get out and hike. We live in the foothills so we have plenty of trails.

hey can one help me out i need to figure out how to post my own questions or more importantly my stories.

can anyone help me please not sure how to do this

thanks

I used to weight 138lbs too...and I LOVE to eat too...i had used a meal replacement shake to control my calories intake...and have successful lost 20lbs in 3 months...I understand it is difficult not to eat food...so i would suggest you used the meal replacement shake...as it makes you filling so you won't be looking for other unhealthy food to eat...my goal is to lose another 8 pounds and i am working on it too

common problem

I gained after I got married, from the pill. Keeping your weight down, is all about your overall health. My hubby and I walk together in the evenings. Sleep deprivation can cause weight gain as well. 10 o'clock sleepy time! I am the grocery shopper and cook in our house. And even though I am raw, and my hubby is t-rex, doesn't mean our different diets mean I don't think about his nutrition. After all, I want him to have a long healthy life. So over the years, I've found ways to get more veggies in his diet. I green juice for us everyday. I notice he eats less carbs and meat after. And I make vietnamese food alot. It has meat, and lots of veggies. But most importantly, the carbs are rice noodles instead of bread or pasta. You can do it. Don't get stressed, we all have to learn.

Hi Giggles!

How's your daily diet looking? I totally understand being busy and not wanting to spend time working out. If you are really strict with your diet, you will probably be able to lose weight with only a little bit of exercise.

Tap your feet at work. Stretch during your lunch break. Chew sugar free gum. Park farther away from the door so that way you walk further. It is the little things that add up.
