Hello all. As the title implies, I recently registered for this site. So here goes... I have never been one to reach out to others. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and hoping that this change will facilitate am even bigger change. Before I ramble on further I will tell you a little about me and my life.
I am married and have two kids. I work full time and am finishing up my BA. I have had hypertension since I was a child. I was recently diagnosed with degenerative spinal/joint/bone disease. About 4 years ago I said enough is enough and decided to lose weight once and for all. I maintained a reasonable diet of 1200 calories a day, no refined sugar or floor, limited starch and grain, moderate fat, lean meats only. I walked 3 miles a day 5 days a week. I jogged one mile in the pool a day 5 days a week. I did 45 minutes of pilates 6 days a week. I did strenght training and toning 3 days a week. It took 9 months of this to lose 60lbs. I only went down 1.5 pant sizes. Not to mention that for the most part I felt horrible. Good thing was that after I stopped most of the working out and started eating a bit more liberally I didn't regain much wieght. That is of cource until I got pregnant with my second child. That pregnancy lead me to gain 90lbs. Two years later I had managed to lose 70lbs of the 90. However, since being diagnosed and suffering a few related injuries, not to mention the meds I am on at times just to be able to function with a reasonable level of pain, I have gained back 20lbs. I can gain 15lbs in less than a week when I am hurt and can't move. It takes several weeks to lose it again. So this is me at my wits end. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am hoping that graduating and taking a year off will give me the time to try to fix myself. Heres to hoping.

welcome to the site - do start yourself a diary.. it's a great way to get support and for us to get to know you better :)

One thing you really might want to reevaluate is you calorie intake - 1200 is awfully low.. you really want acalorie intake that you can sustain without leaving yourself deprived.

enjoy your stay on the site and do ask questions
