Well to start off I am 21 years old 6'0" and last I weighed was around 230lbs and would like to get back down to around 170-180? I am not entirely sure I don't even want to look toned just slim enough to where I don't feel/look as heavy as I think I am. I am in my opinion chubby and have gained over 80lbs in the past 4 years. I have always been "chubby" since I hit my teens and was always told that it was baby fat and would go away with time.
It never did, although when I was at my lowest point, somewhere around 150lbs 4 years ago, I had previously been at 210 lbs. I thought hey, I lost 60lbs pretty damn easily it wont be that tough to lose it again if this gets out of control....Well looking back now that I am sober, I realized that I was still chubby when I was 150lbs due to majority of the weight that I had lost in the matter of 12-18 months was muscle weight. I am pretty confident that it was muscle weight due to my addiction to several illegal drugs (mainly pills) and after working in Construction after becoming sober I had almost instantly gained about 30lbs but felt more "toned" in my arms.
I guess what I am looking for now is some tips and insight on where to even begin and some motivation after realizing that my previous loss of 60lbs was mainly due to drug abuse and didn't give me the results that I was wanting. I don't want to go to the gym would much rather be alone at my house working out due to confidence issues.
I own a cycle trainer which I plan on using but don't know how often and for how long to use it for? I know I can go at a moderate pace (breathing heavy enough to where it would be semi-difficult to talk but still capable of talking) for at least an hour. What is the best way to achieve results here? 30 minutes, 60, 90? How many times per week?
Regarding dieting, I don't plan on changing my diet outside from cutting back on the fast food and pops as well as cutting my portions due to the fact that I know that what I am willing to eat happily is very limited as there are maybe 4 fruits & vegetables that I actually enjoy and can eat without getting sick to my stomach. I don't think my current diet is unhealthy apart from having multiple 32oz pops every day and the occassional fast food (1-2 times per week) and I don't eat many sweets.
Any tips/insight and motivation would be very appreciated!
