I don't like helping minors for obvious reasons.

However, I'd suggest you stay away from diet pills. They're not a real solution and for most.... they don't work. Especially when the long run is factored in.

Before anything, I suggest you educate yourself. Read through the stickie titled, "words of wisdom." I think it's in the "on topic" forum here.

After that, if you have questions, feel free to fire away.

Hi there Nate,

first off, whatever you do, stay away from diet pills. I speak from experience on that topic.

1. Sure you'll lose weight, but don't be surprised when you gain all of it back plus MORE.
2. They aren't FDA certified, so heaven knows the after effects. (I suffered from liver/ kidney problems after my bout.. yah me, right?)
3. After losing weight quickly, your mind isn't given the chance to realize the changes in your body. So in other words, no matter what you lose, you'll still see yourself as being "a fat ass." Been there, done that. It's all psychological.
4. Those damn things are too expensive. You should save all that money up to buy whole foods.... (veggies, fruits, nuts, lean meats (chicken breast, round steak, pork loin), eggs, dairy, whole grains (fiber is your friend)

Read a few of the nutrition threads here. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask people. The support here is tremendous. Once you figure out what you want to do, then try starting a journal to keep you accountable for your workouts and meal plans. All the best...

Hi Nate,
One word of advice... don't look at this as "what you need to do lose 40 lbs." instead look at it like "I need to change my lifestyle so that I lose 40 lbs. and don't ever gain them back"

I highly suggest reading the "words of wisdom" thread found in the On Topic section of this forum.
