Hi..
Im a 37 year old mom of 3. I have started my weight loss journey as a new Years resolution. Starting weight was 172lbs at 5ft4in. I have always been a runner having completed 6 half marathons and 2 full marathons.. However at my weight they were not fast runs. I have goals for times in my head and figured this is the year to acheive those goals.
I started eating better and uping my fitness, but so far to date (Feb 18) in 6 weeks have only lost 8lbs...
Currently Iam eating approx 1400 calories a day and my fitness schedule looks like this:
Monday- Gym for strength training for 45 min
Tuesday - Gym and running 5-7km
Wednesday - Zumba for 1 hour
Thursday - 45 min boot camp and Running intervals for 45 mins
Fri & Sat - nothing
Sunday - Long run 15km or more

Maybe I have the whole concept of weight loss wrong. I thought eat less workout more= loose weight. Maybe not
Any suggestions as to what I can do to drop more weight? I have an upcoming trip to Cuba at the end of March and would like to drop another 10 or so lbs by then....

Exercise looks good, so maybe it has to do with what your eating.

What does a typical day or week of your food intake look like?

I'm not sure how much your eating, but by eating less if you go too low you can end up stalling your weight loss by making your body go into "starvation mode". Make sure its atleast 1200 calories! You may want to treat eating healthier instead of eating less.

Just some ideas! Good luck :)

Get your thyroid checked. Of course, if you have idiot doctors like I do, they're going to tell you to just accept being fat. Don't let them do this to you. Check TSH, T3 and T4. Also, get a glucose tolerance test done. You could be insulin resistant.

Eight pounds in six weeks is honestly very good! It's more than a pound a week. If you continue on with your current weight loss you should right around 8 pounds by the end of March. Just keep on keeping on. You're doing very good!
