New and feeling Blue

Hi my name is Hannah,I am a single parent of 2 ,my youngest is 2 years old and his name is Bailey and my little girl is 4 and her name is Khristian,I work full time while going to school and I have no time for myself.My weight has gone up in the last 2 years I am up to 177 and would like to get back down to 137 so I need to get my butt on the ball.My plan is to not exceed 1,500 calories and eat mainly fruits vegatables lot's of protien lot's of water and exersice an hour a day for 5 days a week.
I would like to make a few friends along the way and anyone with some good advice feel free to stop by.I have read a few diaries on here and I must say I am very impressed and so ready to do this.

Do check out the stickied threads in nutrition, on topic and weight loss thru exercise - 1500 calories might be a tad low on a daily basis.

I just started my Diary yesterday!

So your kids are 2 and 4?
cute ages, but a handful I know.
And you go to school too?
Girl it's no wonder you feel like you have no time for yourself.
I've been there!
I used to get up before anyone else just
so I could have 5 minutes to myself.
We have 5, my youngest is 11 now.
So yeah,
I know what it feels like to be stretched to the limit.
Without the support of my friends I never would have made it.

It sounds like you have a good plan for making changes.
Try to take it a day at a time.
I'm trying to do the same.
And hey, I'm a good listener
if you just want to vent at somebody!

I wanted to record what I eat daily so here it goes
bowl of cheerios with fat free milk 260 caloies
1 subway turkey and cheese sub plain 320 calories
a pk of baked doritos 150 calories
1 cup of lowfat yogurt 80 caloreis
3 pieces of canalope 80 calories
1 piece of baked cod with seasoning 320 calories
a small salad with fat free dressing 100 calories??
1 small bowl of breyers french vanilla frozen yogary 120 calories
I am guessing around 1,450 calories today I did 4 miles
on my treadmill walking at a steady fast pace

Well hello there hannah - thanx for droppin by my diary adn for your sweet comments:) Im a single mommy also - 2 girls - 3 and 13...nice to have soemone else around that is a single mom...there are a few of us around here...

Welcome to the WLF, this place is so wonderful and there are so many people on here that are a true inspiration. I also understand were your coming from as I was a single mom raising twin boys for about 10 years, and I worked full time as well. It was really, really hard, and I denied myself a lot of stuff, but I wouldn't take it back for the world. I think you came to the right place to help get focused and keep track of your progress. I wish you much success in your new journey and I can't wait to stick around and see how well you do. Good Luck!! and have a great weekend!

Wow! A single mom who works full time and goes to school?! Jenna's right. Now wonder you have no time for yourself. Welcome to the forum and thanks for stopping by my diary.

Here's an exercise trick that might help with the weight loss--when you're on the treadmill, vary your speeds. Start out at an average pace for 5 minutes, then amp it up for a couple of minutes, then back down for a few. Keep mixing up your speeds, going at a jog for some of it if you feel comfortable going that fast. But the variation of speeds, especially pushing yourself, will rev up your metabolism. This is called interval training, and I've had good results since I started doing it--really gets me out of plateaus. If you keep going at the same speed your body will get used to it and it won't be very effective.
