Need your help to help myself. (pics inside)

Hello, I'm some dude on the net and you guessed it I'm overweight. I always have been, never ever had a flat stomach don't know how it feels, how it looks like. I'm 18 now and I'm sick of being the fat dude.

I weigh 85kg's, I did weigh 103kg's
I have around 29% body fat.
Like I said, I'm 18 and below is 2 pics.

I am wondering, do you think it is possible for me to get a six pack within 340 days?

To be honest in 340 days time anything 'could' be possible, but nothing will happen if you dont do something about it.

My advise would be to make a start today, starting with a change to your diet, drinking plenty of water and training at least 3 times a week.

There is plenty of tips in the stickies...340 days is something you are obviously aiming toward but give your self shorter goals in the meantime to keep you focused.

Its in your hands...now train!:action8:

The answers are simple. Eat whole foods, especially lots of vegetables, avoid processed food (and especially junk food), drink lots of water, and be active.

If you want more specific advice, you'll have to give more information about what you're eating now and what you're doing for exercise.

as far as it being possible.. it absolutely is! I have lost 90 pounds since March 7 .. thats around 270 days and you dont look like you need to lose anywhere near that much.

start searching around the forum for a good diet.. start exercising (weights/cardio) and you should definately be able to reach your goal! You just need keep motivated (stubborn in my case)

get crackin'!

Thanks guys, I needed to hear that. I was thinking about running every morning at 6 a clock. For about 15-20 min, then I workout, weight lifting etc for 30 min. I have no problem eating right, don't eat junk food and stuff like that anymore.

I'm just glad it can be done within that time frame or faster. I should have joined a forum a long time ago.. been trying and failing a few times but this time it feels good.

There's a guy who made a video by taking pictures of himself every day for one full year he went from about your size to a nice set of abs, a bad spray tan and far too much hair gel.... Well, the important part is, he got the abs he wanted... :beerchug:

It's doable, but I suggest making shorter goals. the longer you give yourself, the more chance you'll let yourself slack off and not get to it.

I keep hearing about having shorter goals but the only goal for me is to have a six or 8 pack that's it really. I can see the difference and it motivates me to continue..

Well, having the goal is only half the problem, setting you path to get there is another issue in itself.

It's like taking a road trip. You can say you want to go to Vegas, but you wouldn't just get in your car and start driving. You'd have to get maps/directions on how to get there. You need to know what needs to be done to get that 6 pack. You have to know what kind of changes you need to make to your diet and what kind of exercise to do to lose the weight and then how to tone up after you've done that. Don't think you are going to click the banner at the top of the page, pay them a few bucks for a magic pill and 4 weeks later look like you've been working out your whole life. It just doesn't work that way. These "quick fixes" just pray on people who want to lose weight fast. The only way to lost weight fast is liposuction and/or gastric-bypass surgery, which is not recommended.

As I said before, and I'm not saying you are lazy or going to slack off, but setting a shorter time span you want to accomplish your goals does help. Most people, if they give themselves a year to do something, they will say, oh I got 12 months to do this, I don't have to worry about it now. I've got 6 months, I don't have to worry about this now and come around the last month or two, they are going crazy cause they haven't started yet. Again, not saying you are like this, this is just the norm for many people.

I set my goal for 4 months from now to go from 200 to 160-170 depending on how much it takes to get the weight off my midsection and show my abs again. I have them, I just need to lose the weight they are hiding behind. I'm having a slow start cause I just have been lazy for the past year and not gone to the gym and my diet is suffering right now cause I don't have money to spend on healthy food due to bills and the holiday coming up. I wanna take my GF to Woldwood for vacation again this year and I want to look good this time, so I've set a shorter goal.

All this aside, at the end of the day, if this is what you really feel is the time span you want to give yourself, that's fine, you have to do it however you feel most comfortable. If you are not happy with what you are doing or how you are doing it, you'll probably stop working towards your goal.

You have to keep in mind, whatever you do, you must continue to do. Dieting only works while you are dieting. Once you are done and have lost the weight and gone back to the "old ways" you will begin to regain the weight. Don't think of this as a diet, think of it as a life change because, in fear of sounding redundant, you have to stick with it forever.

I wish you the best of luck Somedude. :beerchug:

Six packs are very very hard to get, some peopel are just gifted.

I used to be bigger than you, I worked hard because I wanted to look good, also wanted to be in the army. I joined the TA (still FAT) but I then slimmed down pretty well by training daily in my own time.
I then went to afghanistan last year, and only during afghan did I manage to get a six pack - you have to work and work and work, and your diet has to be near perfect.

When i came back from afghan I lost my sixpack.
I now accept I won't have a six pack because for me I do like my food. I just train hard now to keep in good shape and condition.

I went to my doctor and did some tests, seems like I build muscle almost to easy so having a six pack wont be hard for me at all when I get down to 10-%

Having abs isn't really the problem. The problem is being able to show them. I have great abs, but I am also a great cook. The thing to do is work on losing body fat and whole-body toning.

Also, disregard the pics at the top of the page with those insane abs. I'm not saying they are not real, just damn near unattainable. You really have to eat like nothing and do nothing but work out and do crunches. I hear LL Cool J's book is pretty bad ass if you want to get great abs, but I haven't read it myself. I might for giggles later in teh week.
