Heya, welcome to the forums, there are heaps of ways to loose, investigate a few of the other threads.
Calorie counting seems popular and sucessful.

You may find that just setting some simple goals for yourself may be all you need to do. Consider how much weight you want to lose, and then decide when you want to lose it by. I recommend no less than 1 pound a week, and no more than 4 pounds a week, as your "desired" plan, but you may also want to go by Clothing Sizes, or just simple measurements.
You may also want to choose whether you will do it by diet alone, exercise alone, or some combination of them, or other plans.

Now, this may seem like a lot of things to decide, but it breaks down to "How much [weight or size] do you want to lose by [when] through what method?"

It won't solve your problems, but it makes for a good start.
