Hey.

I'm a 19 year old college guy. Food has always been my weakness. I really love eating, and I've done it a lot. lol.

In May 2007 the doctor recorded my highest weight, 302lbs. I felt horrible. I ate better and, well, less. It was incredibly hard. Now, one year later, I weigh in at 257. 45 pounds lost! Now I want to wow my friends back at school when I go back in 2.5 months by losing some more. My eventual goal is 200, but losing 20 more in the summer months would be great.

On January first I gave up all fast food but subway. And there I get the healthier ones with no cheese and light sauce. And no sugar drinks or caffeine. I drink 90% water.

I still eat a lot. I eat probably four regular sized meals a day - now i just eat better things. I don't count calories - I just eat what I know is fairly healthy. I try to eat less but I just end up getting hungry. So I eat better things. I drink lots of water too.

Now after some slacking I'm really trying to get fit. I've almost never exercised more than walking. At my age I should be able to play sports and run, so I am beginning light jogging tomorrow night. Any other ideas?

I need to gain some good muscle. I have little money so the gym is out. I have no weight set or anything. Not sure what to do there.

Any advice or support is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum! You definitely came to the right place. I've never met so many supportive people in one place before. Without any gym equipment to work with, I recommend that continue walking and jogging as often as you can. Aside from that, I find it really helpful to youtube some exercise routines. There are quite a few out there. I use the pilates stuff but I'm sure you can find something more tailored to your interests. Another helpful tool it to track everything on fitday.com. Good luck and don't forget to update us on your progress! There are so many people here who share your struggle, don't hesitate to contact us for help!
