Hi there...I'm new to this forum so bare with me. I want to tell you a little something about myself first off...I'm 46 yrs. old...married 2 children (grown) and I have MS. I was dx about 2 yrs ago and the 1st yr was so tough for me but I think they finally got me on the right medication. Since I was dx I notice that I'm not stable anymore. I'd like to consider myself active but I think I'm kidding myself. I am a mail carrier so I do already walk about 4-5 miles a day. I was in an auto accident while working and have been out of work since 7-7-09 and doing PT 2x's a week. But since I've been off I've gained 20 lbs cuz I can't get myself away from the computer and I can't stop making fudge. I know right. Watching Biggest Loser last night I sorta decided to just stop all together. Watching what I eat is hard for me only cuz I really don't eat alot of things...I do not eat any seafood at all....never will...I love chicken but the family can only handle so much of that. So I'm leaving them on their own...they're old enough to handle that. I really need to start exercising and get my body to move...I'm so stiff everywhere in my body I can't take it...and its nothing to do with my MS...its because I don't do anything active. Well...I have an exercise bike...a cardio glide machine...the big ball...and the slide...Is there anyone out there that can help me figure out how to use these items to my advantage...I mean I bought them and never used them...now I want to and need to I just need someone to tell me what I should be doing...for how long etc...How long should I be exercising on each thing etc.? Thanks so very much for any advice anyone can tell me:waving:

Hi and welcome.

Before I respond to your posts, could I maybe ask you to change your font? The pale blue and small text is REALLY hard to read. I finally had to copy your post to another document to read it because it was making my eyes hurt. I suspect that might be why you haven't gotten more responses. :)

Ok, that out of the way, here are my thoughts:

I don't think there's any magic way to use any of these items - just get on them and do it. :)

I'm assuming that each of them came with a video and/or a book - I'd use that to start. Or get online and google each item and "workouts" and you'll get tons of ideas.

Keep in mind that exercise is only a small part of the equation. Losing weight is 80% or more about what you eat and how much you eat.

I'd suggest registering for a free account at either fitday.com or thedailyplate.com and starting to track your foods. Once you see how much you're eating and where your nutrients fall, you'll be in a much better position to see wher eyou need to cut back or tweak things to help you lose the weight you want to lose.
