Hey everyone,

I'm Omar, a 36 year old male and I just quickly want to tell you about myself, what I have done in the past, what I do now after finding a "fly in the ointment" in regards to misinformation about "fat loss and getting ripped, losing belly fat, getting a six pack".

So I'm 5'9 and last year weighed 225
Was a bit flabby around the arms, chest, core, etc

So I embarked on what I thought was the way to get rid of this fast

Join a gym
I would do traditional "simply muscle movement" type exercises and training
involving one range of motion

Arm curl, tricep pull down, etc

I also removed my rice from my diet and just ate chicken breast, sweet potatoe, veggies, etc

After 3 months. I went down to 195Lbs

No six pack and still flabby but much less.
Went to the Gym 3 times/week
Did interval cardio which I learned is better then steady pace cardio.

I went to Paris, London and then came back and put back 20 lbs to 215
which I had until the time this year I started going to the Gym again which was May 10th, 2011.

I am now 201 lbs.

This year I changed my approach and got into torturous, rigorous
Boxing, fighting training
Circuit resistance, weight training
Compound muscle movements-dead lifts, military press, push ups, dips, hanging from the chin up bar leg raises to my neck level
Skipping rope, speed bag, heavy bag, shadow boxing, ducking and dodging techniques and movements in the gym
I haven't given up rice - I eat Basmati with my meat, chicken or Fish

I am getting ripped right now and can see formation of six pack muscles clearly and my core is getting strong
My upper body is getting chiseled and ripped
I am also doing cardio but not for fat loss, for the high rate metabolism achievement-I do compound muscle exercises, skipping rope/boxing style training and just cut calories.

I also workout 7 days/week with 1 day rest
But even on those days I go for a nice long walk for a few miles.

Now am I missing anything? Where does interval cardio and running on the treadmill have to do with fat loss or does it?

I discovered that by doing skipping, boxing/fightting, high intensity, compound muscle movements, circuit training, heavy weights that I am losing fat and burning it at an expedient rate

What about interval cardio? Do I need to do the treadmill, after 20 minutes of intense skipping? I probably burn more calories skipping rope in 10 minutes than on the treadmill for 40 minutes.

Is there anything else I can do to expedite me "Getting ripped"

So far so good. I can actually see ab muscles which is unbelievable and way more definition throughout my body, I am getting and feeling tighter less flabby due to this new workout paradigm.

So once again here is what I do

7 days a week

Boxing/fighting training
Circuit training
Compound muscle exercises
Weight training with negative resistance
Cutting calories

Anything else?

Thanks for your help!
