Need Some Advice

Just bought a heavy bag stand and a 70 lb heavy bag. Here is a link to the stand and bag:




My friend bought this stand a few years ago, but without a speed bag extention (which I believe will give it some more stability.) Now my question is, how much weight will I need to stabilize it, and what's the cheapest weight I can get (I'm not particularly fond of buying $20 45 lb weights)
 
Why not come up with some inexpensive, homemade sand bags? Or just buy a 50lb bag of sand at home depot for 3 bucks and plop it on there.


I didn't read it but I think this site has info/pictures of making sand bags.


ETA: Just noticed it had actual weight holders. I'd still prefer to use sand; less expensive, isn't as wide as large 45lb plates.

When I got mine I just hung it from one of the crossing beams in my garage.. and reinforced that. Sand bags would be your best bet. Not sure on the weight of concrete bags.. but I've always known them to be decently heavy.
