Not sure if this is the right place but im trying to lose a bit of weight 2st to be honest. I know this can take a long time to achieve but need to know if im doing every thing right. this is a normal day.....

Morning: Banana
work out for 40 min
cup size bowl of special k

Lunch: ryvita with low fat spread and cucumber
yogurt
apple

Dinner: Chicken salad/ chicken and veggies

Snacks: Nuts
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Raw pepper

And on average 7pts of water.

I have cut out all junk food and replaced it with salad and veg, eating fruit insted of chocolate/crisp, Water instead of coke. I have been doing this for approx 1 week and starting to feel the difference. After being told the calorie intake is way to low ive started to worry so need some advice as to what/where im going wrong.

Thanks for any advice.

Just a quickie. Yes if its too low you need to increase your calories. You might want to look into calorie counting for a while until you get hte hang of how much you should be eating. If you don't eat enough, many things can happen but the main thing that will happen is that in the longer term you will put back on all the weight you lose so quickly at hte beginning and for a lot of us this all happens in a very short space of time. maybe between 3-6 months. So start out right.

Follow some diaries. Check out mine and Amy's we take diffierent approaches but we are both pretty rigorous. She counts calories and eats lot of meat. I don't count cause i know what is about the right amount of food and normally i don't eat much meat.

Read up on calorie counting. here's lots of posts on it here about how to get started.

hey there your def on the right idea with healthy eating!
should have a minium of 1200 calories a day but its more than jsut calories
eating the right food for ur body is important! protein for muscle, carbs like speical k for the energy friut is a good source of fibre also wholegrain food are good for fibre and carbs!
coz by just saying calorie counting u cud in theory eat three or 4 mars bars a day and theres 1200 calories
i would discourage completly cutting out all junk food totally maybe have lil a small piece of choclate a week or something or a sccoop of ice cream a lil of what you fancy does u good and can help prevent bingeing.
with working out i personally like to really push myself like u see some girls dont even work up a sweat! you need to work it to burn whats all ready there as well as doing some toning exercises to exercises is really important for loosing weight it can be easy to maintain with just diet but its the exercise that makes u notice the change.

hope this helps =] x

Thanks, yeah it has helped. I have been counting the calories and keeping a daily chart on my intake but realized i have gone 3 days with less then 700 cals but im just not hungry so trying to make it up by having apples etc.
But i feel great and seem to have more energy now after just a week.

You're best off making it up with complex carb stuff rather than just apples.
Fruit has sugar in, which in high quantites can slow weightloss. The new WW for example, fruit is zero points so you can have unlimited amounts, but the stories of people gaining or their weightloss stopping are numerous, and most can trace it back to the sheer quantity of fruit they are eating.
Have a tomato pasta side to your chicken salad, make your own sauce and use wholemeal pasta, it will bulk out your meal a bit and up your calories. It also balances it out as it sounds like you don't have many carbs in there.
As for checking out diaries that's a great idea, you can get meal plan ideas from there too (just avoid mine atm I'm not doing it properly because of a charity thing :p )

Also, are you counting exercise calories?
You don't want to end up in too much of a deficit because you may go into starvation mode (a slightly controversial thing to say as opinions on this are mixed) or harm your body in any way.

When I was doing it properly, I'd have a healthy cooked breakfast for example scrambled eggs with nothing added, with grilled bacon not fried, mushrooms etc with some wholemeal toast. It was still relatively low calorie but set me up for the day.
I'd have equal portions of carby stuff, protein and veg on my plate at tea time, and track every little thing on something live daily plate, fitday or livestrong to see whether my snacks or other meals needed to be protein based, carb based, or mainly veg.
You'll learn what works for you though, some people do low fat, jsut calorie count, low carb. There are loads of variations, but they all say pretty much the same thing, don't go below 1200.

Sorry for the long post I'm a rambler!!!

Basically, up your calories, if you're unsure at any point check the stickies in the forum and track track track!!!
