I travel a bit for my work.... this time of year and in the fall.

Starting this next week I will be working out of town at a show for 5 days from 10 am till 10 Pm.. I suspect that my hotel will provide a nice Complimentary breakfast that I should be able to get a Bannana, Bagel Cereal etc... with out a probnlem... but what to do for the rest of day.... Is there any Protien Bars I can eat that will really take care of me for those time frames and How many of them a day should I be looking at 5 or so?

ANy advice will be appreciated.. I cant be the only person who travels to Trade shows...

I don't do to trade shows, but here's my two cents anyway. *smile* There is no way in heck I would be able to eat protein bars all day, for five days. Yuck. One or two a day wouldn't be bad, but I would pack myself some other foods. Steal fruit from breakfast. Buy peanut butter and whole grain bread and make some sandwiches. Nuts. Crackers. Jerky. Find a supermarket on the way and pick up some carrots/celery/other cut up veggies. As far as bar selection goes, they're not protein bars, buy I prefer Lara bars. They are whole foods, no additives or fake ingredients. Yummy, satisfying and healthy.

watch the bagels -those tend to be really high in calories and you don't get much solid nutrition out of them... fruit is good... high fiber cereal is good...

In pretty much any casual dining/fast food restaurant, you can find something on the menu to eat, if you are paying attention.

To keep youo energized during the trade show, keep some nuts close by (and i don't mean crazy colleagues) an ounce of almonds goes a long way and is good for you

Read labels on any bars if you like them - if they have High Fructose Corn Syrup as an ingredient, put them back....

Whole grain crackers and peanut butter are also a good stand by snack.. watching portions of course :D

stay hydrated - lots and lots of water.. avoid the diet sodas.

go to the grocery store and buy some healthy snacks to keep in your hotel room....pay attention to the menu if you're going to be eating out...

Here is what I have Planned out...
