Need slimmer legs/calves...

Hi, im new here to the forums. :)

Im gonna be straight to the point; i NEED slimmer legs!!!!

I know i may be exaggerating about this a little, but im being dead serious. I hate my legs; their just so fugly (fu**ing ugly.) Their just too big and round. All i want are nice long n slender legs that i feel i can walk around and not be ashamed of. :(

I heard for long n slender legs, dont run and do workouts. That'll only make it bigger cause your actually working out the muscle.

I need real advice here guys. What should i do???

That's actually NOT the case. People think that because for people with body fat around their legs (like most average women), they tend to "bulk up" when they start working out - but this is because the muscle is growing and pushing out the fat.
This is actually a matter of lowering your body percentage because muscle takes up LESS space than fat. You really ought to work-out because it will help lower your BF% by boosting your metabolism and burning more calories throughout the day.

The only way to lose body fat is a combination of a clean diet (the most important) and exercise - cardio+weights. And do NOT neglect to work your legs when lifting - it will certainly help: your largest muscles are in your lower half, so when doing squats and other lower body exercises, you will burn more calories.

Post your average daily diet and we'll help you tweak it so it's geared for fat loss. And what are your stats?

Addendum:
Old blues axiom: I don't know, but I've been told, a big legged woman ain't got no soul.
(In blues-speak, that's a backhanded compliment)

(and I know this doesn't necessarily apply to you, but I've got to add: )
From one of my favorite songs: Fat bottomed girls, you make the rocking world go 'round!

i lost 25 lbs, and while i lost it all over, my legs did get lanky. of course i did weights and cardio along with it..........

You know I used to always hate my legs because the are so muscular from years of Ballet dancing, running and cycling, but the truth is I get a lot of compliments on my legs. I believe certain exercises build leaner muscles, yoga and running are great for this. If you incorporate weights (in squats etc..) do greater repetitions with less weights as opposed to heavy weights. Cardio burns fat, so don't refrain from working out. Spockafina says it best...your lower half has your largest muscle groups, by building them you make yourself much more efficient at burning fat.
