need help

hey guys I need to know what product (brand) you would recommend for protien and also for a creatin,,your help is appreciated , what i'm trying to do is build size and am told that a protien shake 2 times a day is good for that and that the creatin will also help ,,,let me know what u guys think

I can't help you on the creatine, I don't use it. As far as protein powders go. Ive used (and like) EAS whey protein and Optimum Nutrition. STay away from stuff like met-rx, its way overpriced IMO.

like allen said, eas and optimum are two quality brands. you also have prolab, universal, dymatize, etc just to name others.

when looking into creatine, make sure there is a creapure label somewhere on the logo. this creatine that the supplement companies use is free of impurities and other useless items. prolab and universal are two brands that i know of that use creapure creatine.

two protein shakes a day really dont matter as much as what your entire meal plan and training routine look like. thats what will build size. ;)

Thats absolutely correct. I only use the protein to suppliment my intake to beneficial levels. Don't count on only the powder for results. Whole foods must not be ignored. Eat clean, train right, supplement with powder, get big :D

And to bear, are you bulking/cutting using cycles at the moment? I noticed your sig saying your cutting on march 5th. What bf % are you trying to get down to? Im more curious than anything

if you start taking creatine, doesnt your body stop naturally making it (atleast making as much as it used to) so when you stop the creatine....yeah....???????

you will see some say that your body stops making creatine on its own. mostly you'll see that on a google search where you'll get anything and everything.

but when i look towards those i trust and respect which are ppl like will brink, christian finn, craig ballantyne, etc they say no to this. i go with that.

for personal experience, i've used creatine off and on for almost 10 years now. can report no ill effects whatsowhatever. :D

this month and last month i've been maintaining. at the beginning of last summer i was at 22.1% bodyfat and i got down to just under 16% at the end of the year. i know that to expect to drop 6 points again would be asking too much, would be great and wonderful but i dont see it happening.

so my goal is half that. three points at the least and i'll be more than satisfied. i'm currently getting myself motivated and making my plans. besides weight training and HIIT on the bike i plan on implenting running stairs, jump rope, sled pulls, tire flips, etc. did a little last summer to see if my knees would hold up and they did fine, thankfully. ;)

ive heard creatine can cause ance not sure about this though.

ive never heard that, and i dont see why it would be true. in my limited experience with creatine i didnt have this problem, nor has anyone i know who uses creatine mentioned any such problems.

one buddy of mine started out with creatine and ended up with red blotches on his face. of course, certain ppl were pointing to the creatine itself. we asked him what brand he was taking and it was phosphagen hp by eas the fruit punch flavor.

come to find out he was allergic to one of the coloring ingredeints. so he went with plain creatine and did fine. ;)

hey guys don't sell the optimum nutrition around my parts ,, but picked up some EAS Myoplex Original and will try that (just bought 2 packs wanted to try the taste first) tell me if u agree with me going with the Myoplex Original or should i have gone with the Myoplex deluxe

first be aware that myoplex is considered a meal replacement powder because you're getting protein and carbs. a typical shake is something like 250 calories with 40 something grams of protein and 20 something grams of carbs.

a protein powder will have a majority of protein with very little carbs and fat like 120 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbs and 2 grams of fat or something close to that.

it looks like myoplex deluxe contains glutamine, cla and mct which the original doesnt. also the original contains maltodextrin as the carb source while the deluxe has rice oligodextrins, oat bran, fiber and clarified brown rice syrup solids.

my humble personal opinion (MHPO) is to first get a good meal plan in place as best you can without the use of supplements. then see what areas you need help in. for most ppl they have no problems eating enough carbs and fats but problems can arise in getting enough protein and enough meals.

i really dont care for commercial meal replacement powders so i would say get a protein powder if you have a problem with getting enough protein and/or meals. because that way you first can use them to get enough protein and second can use them to do your own meal replacement shakes.

for example you could blend up a shake with protein powder, milk and a banana and there you go. beats the heck out of any maltodextrin shake. :)
