Need help with workout schedule and diet.

Hi,

I need help developing a better workout schedule and diet. I'm joining a gym and want to know the best time to go. I go every weekday and rest on the weekends. I need to lose alot of weight so I'm not longer obese. I've been trying my own routine for 2 weeks now, but I'm not sure if it's good or not. So here goes..

I work a 7am to 5pm weekday shift and it's a deskjob so I'm pretty much sitting for many hours unless I get called to help another department.

I wake up at 6am and eat breakfast. Either wheaties or cherios with fat free milk. Then I'm off to work.
I have a 2 15 minute breaks divided evenly into my shift. During these breaks I either eat fruit or yogurt.
I eat lunch at 12pm. I've started eating lean cuisines and smart-ones because I've read they are the perfect portion with low calories..

I get to the gym by 5:30 right after work. And I've been doing bicycling and treadmilling. I stay at the gym for 30 minutes.

I get home at 6pm and usually eat dinner around 6. And I've been sticking with some salmon and asparagus recipe I found and substitute the salmon with either chicken breast or lean piece of steak.

I go to bed at 11pm.

Is there anything I should change? Should I do something different at the gym? Should I go to the gym before or after I eat dinner? Should I be there longer than 30 minutes? Should I be taking any supplements? Is there anything wrong with my diet?

Training

I think what you mostly need is advice on training and motivation. Training motivation and a training cycle is the hardest thing for any beginner I personally recommend getting a personal trainer. But if you're like me you can't afford to get a trainer all the time. What you need is information. Just to be told exactly what to do. I recommend getting an e-book of some sort or using magazine workouts.
