I do RPM (spin classes) 4x a week and my average heart rate for a class would be about 160ish getting up to the 185-190 mark towards the end. I'm female and 23, and would like to still work on fat burning rather than fitness. How can I work out how high to get my heart rate?
I don't understand the question. Are you asking what heart rate you should be working to lose fat? The higher the heart rate that you can tolerate for as long as possible the better for fat loss. For example, staying at 180 for 1 hour is going to produce more fat loss than 190 for 10 minutes. Don't worry about those low "fat burning zone" heart rates. You will not burn more fat at a lower intensity, that is a myth.
