Need help with Enegry level!!!

hi guys... new on this, first post hopefully i can get some advice. I am a Muay Thai fighter and i train at least 4times up to 6times a week. Most of the time before i train i run either 2miles or 4miles, if i dont run ill hit the ropes for a good 10+ minutes. Sometimes my enegry level isn't there when i train, some of it maybe mental but i think im in ok condition but sometimes i just cant find the boost. Any suggestions? I dont take any supplements and id like to stay natural. I eat ok... although it could be better. Im thinking about picking up some multivitimans or something i dotn know? Any help guys? thanks!

Your diet, rest, and mentality are the key factors.

agree with Lei. A multivitamin could help keep your energy level up, i know mine helps. and how many hours of sleep do you get each night? If you sometimes run 6 times a week, and run all out, you could also be overdoing it and burning out.

I know from my experience if I don't eat properly the day before my energy level is way down. I agree with the other post look at your diet.
Good luck!

i think my diets ok... i am human though. Breakfast varies from whole grain ceral the nasty healthy stuff haha... sometimes peanutbutter sandwhiches or oatmeal. i only use 2% reduce fat milk, sometimes ill throw in a bannana. Once in awhile ill go with an eggwhite amulet. Lunch usually consists of pasta, noodles, rice stuff like that and some meat or whatever nothing too big i dont eat a whole lot for lunch. before i train ill eat a bannana maybe some mixed nuts to snack on... Dinner is my big meal. Me being asian i eat have rice almost everynight along with different plates like, steak, fish, bok choy, some other greens, some pork stuff... ill have a burger here and there fries, bacon... whatever u know when u go out just grab something to eat. but other than that i think i eat pretty health? well any suggestions on what to eat to boost energy?

Ease up on the cardio, instead keep it short and intense to mimick fight conditions. Your diet seems moderate, but if it were cleaner, you'd feel better...of course, you'd be bored out of your mind while battling cravings. Try the cardio thing for about two weeks and let us know how you feel then.

Your diet doesnt look bad and taking a good multivitamen/mineral supplement wouldnt hurt. One thing I started doing that helped me considerably was after 4 to 6 weeks of hard training I take a week off. I know alot of people cant seem to do this but believe me no matter how conditioned a person is or how good the diet is the human body cant train endlessly. And after a week break I not only feel recharged but I actually see some gains when I return to training. :)

Yeah usually before a week before the fight my instructor tell us to just rest and train very lightly and just work on cardio (light jogging) and drunk lots of water... no love making, dont watch alot of t.v. get good amount of sleep :) anyways i think ill try a multivitamin!

How far apart are your feedings?

To be honest, your diet looks gross to me.
There is nowaay in hell I could eat like that and expect to perform well!
I can picture the stodgey contents of your bowels and fuel supply as I read that. It's "okay",..for a half committed show but it's certainly not the diet of a champion.
I'm seeing vitamin deficiency.
Too many complex carbs make you lethargic and I cant see the vitamin C in your diet except for the little bits you get from your greens.
Incorporate some more fruits and juices and see if thaat makes a difference..
there was a bit of discussion recently about the benifit of bottled juice but if you reeally want to go clean, besides the fruit, add some fresh squeezed juice.
The reason I mention the vit c and fruit is to improve your oxygen uptake from all those great veggies and meats you eat ... otherwise they're really little good to you.
If you can do thaat, add a multi-vit and some fresh teas or guaranna and maybe even do more milk more regularly aswell then you can probably eliminate some more fat from your diet aswell via your cooking methods and meat choices and have equally good poop but better quality.
..It might take your body a few days or a week or so to reset your metabolism but if you're serious, then it's something that sooner or later just has to be done.
Highly recommend you also look at your sleeping habits. ..not jUst pre-fight..unless you really didn't want to win anyway. ..you're serious or you're not but good luck nonetheless.

cheers

Nope, if your diet sucks, your energy levels will suck right along with it regarless of how many vitamins you take.

Get your diet in check and you will feel a difference.

How's It!

A few things you could do to help with your training routine is go out and visit various muay thai/kick boxing training centers and make the time to talk with the trainers as well as the students who train in that discipline.
The more you get your information from the right source the better it will be for you to apply the right/healthy resources needed for your training.

Your age, your social lifestyle and enthusiasim can affect your training both mentally and physically. you may have to step back and take a look at your ways of living. Probably the biggest question that needs to be answered is "Why" am I doing this - Muay Thai. After you get your answer which should be very genuine and honest, then the "how to train" may start to appear.
Remember that everyone starts off the same way in any physical activity.

Some other points to look at would be your physical posture(core). This is where your energy pathways lives. Your posture dictates the amount of oxygen/air and if you train with an improper posture you could be causing oxygen deprivation to your insides that provide energy to the rest of the body. You might have to have someone check your training posture as well as your normal everyday posture.

As for mult-vitamins they don't "boost" energy levels. They do help repair and maintain what you may deplete through your training.
For now, help eduacate and re-educate yourself about the health of your body and learn to understand that if you say you train hard, your internal body trains Five Times Harder.

Aloha and good health to you!

Mikey
