Hello everybody...

Regards to all..

This is my 1st post in here. I've been married for a year and half a year now. I've been trying to conceive but no use. I was diagnosed with PCOs.. I took Glucophage for a while but I stopped. I'm taking pills to reduce my prolactin hormone (it has been 7 months since I started the pills). My problem is that I'm obese. (weight 97 Kg (214 ib), height 163 cm (5".2) ) I'm now walking at least 30 Mins a day.. & sometimes jumping the rope. my diet is normal (sometimes crave for chocolate, cheesecake.. but never eat VERY sweet things) I eat pop corn ocationally, I sometimes drink soda, artificial juices. I don't eat fruits & vegetables very much (if available it's ok.. if not I don't bother buying any)

If i modified the way i'm eating & have the same exercises (walking & jumping) would I still be able to loose weight and reach my goal (60 kg (135 lb)) ?? & approxemately how much time do I need to be able to conceive?

Please I need advices & supports... & can anybody with same case be my buddie? Thanks

Hi KittyKat...

I wanted to ask (I have PCOS too) if you have studied the relationship between insulin resistance and PCOS?

I found that when I went on a very low carb diet for a few months (I can't personally recommend very low carb as a lifestyle diet, but that's just me). It totally took care of my PCOS symptoms. My hormones were back to normal. Also I have read that progesterone cream helps. Maybe talk to your Dr. or do a little research Re: this.

Good luck dear!

Hi

Hi.. thanks for your reply..

I really don't know the relation between the 2 things.. but all that I know is that taking Glucophage (antidiabetic agent) can treat PCOs & prevent a person from being a diabetic (assuming someone is healthy). I do have now my periods but they are irregular, but I believe I do not ovulate at all. Thats why I need to reduce my weight as much as I can..

Can you provide me with your plans please? I believe both you & I have almost the same pounds to loose...

Same boat

I am new to this formum and I also have PCOS. I am currently taking Glucophage (metformin) and I have already went thru 4 rounds of clomid and no baby. I need to loose about 100 lbs, but they say that just loosing 5-10%of your body weight can help 'jumpstart' your ovaries.
I too dont usually have periods unless they are forced by medication. In the past 5 years I contstantly have gained weight and it seemed to skyrocket when I got of BC pills about 4 yrs ago.

My DH and I are going to join a gym this week and are looking at changing our eating habits. I am a carb/chocolate/milk-aholic, which is the WORST things to have with PCOS. All those carbs turns to sugar and our PCOS bodies already over produce insulin (Sugar), thus we add on the weight easy.

Would love to have a fellow PCOS buddy to help keep me in check!!
