I need some help, I will list some details that may help you help me.
I am 22 years old, weight 204 lbs, 5'7" short. I want to lose weight but my ultimate goal is to build muscle.
I recently joined a gym and have finally gotten to habit of actually going at least 4 times a week. My beginning weight was 215 lbs. I have managed to lose some weight but am looking to lose more and gain more muscle.
My question is what are good meals to take to help lose weight and also gain muscle. Should I try to do both? That is should I weight lift and do cardio the same day?
Here is what my typical meal is for a day:
Breakfast: 1 slice wheat bread toasted, scrambled egg - no yoke, 1/2 bagel with peanut butter, and 1/2 glass water
Snacks before lunch: four 8 oz glasses of water and grapes, or kellogs cereal bar - 90 calories.
Lunch: Turkey sandwich(wheat bread) with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and 8 oz water.
Snacks before dinner: Grapes or kellogs cereal bar
Dinner: Chicken sandwich made with 99% fat free chick (skinless) and 8 oz water
after dinner snack: grapes
Also, would it be a good idea for me to take protein supplements now or should I wait until I have lost weight?
What is the best protein supplement to take and when should you take it? Before or after a workout? Wait - Protein is used to help build muscle right?
I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks.
