Need get in shape in 6 months or so

Hy everyone! newbie in forum and fitness ;)
This year I want go study to Police College so I need get in to the shape. I need to be fit enough to do all the physical stuff in decent level.

So what the problem? I dont feel fit or look fit.
I try exercise about 3-6 times in week.(about 2month already)
I was running 2.5km - 4.5km, 3-6 times in week but recently something happend to my lower legs(intense pain when running) so i cut down running to 3 times per week and added 2 days with body weight training. Push ups, Crunches, pull ups. ect.
Cant figure out whay I dont feel stedy progress.
What shoud i improve?

The most likely cause of the pain in your legs is shin splints. It probably means you've been running with a shoddy technique that needs fixing. One trainer I know has had a lot of success in dealing with shin splints by telling his clients to run barefoot -- the reason being that if you're running barefoot, it's a lot harder to run with bad technique and not feel instant pain, whereas if you run with cushy shoes you can run as terribly as you want to and you probably won't feel any repurcussions until something like shin splints occurs. I don't think fixing it is always quite that simple, but, regardless, I'd be looking at how you run first and foremost.
 
I heard about shin splints. Hope that will heal quickly. The last time I ran through the rough terrain of drifting snow along the coast. Maybe it was too hard for my feet..

I hope that tomorrow I will be able to resume running.
