Need Cutting Advice

Hey guys I made a thread under the weightlifting forum about my workout. I have a few questions about cutting though. I am 5'9" 235 lbs right now. I have a bigger build and am not really fat, I can post pics if needed. My question is would cutting for a couple weeks be beneficial to me? If so how long should I do it for? And what do I eat while cutting? And do i continue my same full body workout m,w,f and hiit tues and thursday? Any info would be great.

Also one more question. I found an egg poaching pan and would like to start making poached eggs, are they good for you? I use to make these and then put them in a bowl with some toast and eat them together. Any advice would be great.

If you choose to cut, you have to be motivated to hit the gym, and there will be time when you're hungry. You probably should add more cardio to your workout, though you do want to keep hitting the weights as well. While cutting, you want to go into a calorie deficit, most people recommend around 500 calories less than you need. (500 calories x7 days a week = 3500 calories, which equals a pound) Things to eat, i like to eat oatmeal, or a plain cereal, stay away from sugar. Protein shakes once or even twice a day are good. Fish/turkey/chicken sandwhiches on whole wheat bread. Things like this, you will get a feel for how many calories certain foods have, and i like to count calories simply to be sure i am under. For terms of how long you should cut for, thats up to you, you can possibly lose a pound, or a pound and a half a week, generally 2 pounds max. Diet is a key for cutting. I'm not sure about poached eggs, never had one.

Poached eggs are just as good for you as eggs cooked any other way, better in fact than scrambling or frying with butter. It's just cooking an egg in water. So... same nutritional content as a plain old egg.
