Need as much help as I can get!

Hello Everyone, I just joined this forum a couple of days ago and I am really trying to get some advice on how to lose some weight.
First off, I am 23 years old and have a 4 year old child. I was the smallest ever after I had my baby but now I am bigger than I have been my whole life. Everyone says I look fine but I think they are just being nice. I am currently 141 lbs and I would love to get back into the 120's. I just want to fit into my clothes again!!! I am always in a rush and it is hard to find foods that are fast and that sound appealling....it doesn't help that I am a picky eater but I do like a lot of foods...just not the good ones. I have started trying to keep count of my calories and I think I am doing a pretty good job so far but its hard when you like to eat. I can always think of an excuse to eat. Usually its b/c I am bored. I sit at a desk all day, which doesn't help much but I have been taking the stairs and parking furthur from the front door to try and get a little exercise out of it.

If you can help me at all I would love any suggestions you have to offer. I have commited to the NOvember challenge to lose 2lbs a week and I am really excited about it but we will see how it goes.
 
This is a bit different than the advice I usually give but here it goes:

You are going to start the Nov. challenge. Good for you...but why not start now...and pretend like this extra week is like a "cheating the field" week. In other words, try and get ahead of the game by losing 2 lbs this week, and being ahead of schedule once the month starts.

This little handy trick has always worked for me. It is motivating to beat your goals!
