need advice on losing weight

I really want to slim down and get super toned. im 23 female and have 15-20 pounds to lose. I need a workout and diet plan that will help me achieve my goal. Any advice for me? Thanks!
 
Are you currently doing any exercise? What's your current diet like?
If you're wanting to slim down; lose weight. You'll need to have a healthy diet and stick to it and exercise often. Increase muscle mass = decreased body fat. That dosent mean you need to bulk up, just strengthening them will make your body burn fats better.
 
im in a cycle of restricting calories for a short time period and then binging :( so diet is not good at all. my workouts are very inconsistent (when im restricting i also workout and when im binging i just sit around). when i do workout i usually do the stairmaster for 30 min and some weights. i guess the inconsistency and the binging is my problem.
 
I would definately say it's the inconsistancy. You really need to set yourself a target, so losing some weight and get into a routine, I'm not going to lie, it is difficult, but you need to be strict on yourself and stick to that routine and after you have for a while, it will become a lot easier. I have the general rules for daily calorie intake on my site, which you should have a look at: . So you should try and follow the calorie intake based on your current weight and decrease it accordingly.
Once again as I said, really try and set yourself a exercise routine that you can follow and stick to.
Gives things time and you'll be well on track.

The routine in regards to full-body or split is up to you. I personally like doing full-body work-outs 3 or 4 times per week. I'm not sure if you noticed, but on my site, I also have a list of resistance exercises (weight training) for each body part. You should try and work each body part and generally work the larger muscle first. Try and do 30minutes of cardio, and do cardio as much as you can, so you can do cardio on the days you do weight training and the days you're not, but try and factor in one or two days of rest and recovery. If you're doing cardio on a day you're doing weights training, do the cardio after you've done your weights training.

I'd say concentrate first on getting your diet in order as that will give you the biggest bang for your buck. Then you can worry about what workouts to do.
