Need advice about Excercise Equipment at home

I need info about excercise equipment at home. I used to exercise religiously for 4 years about 10 years ago. I realized back then I got bad advice. I used the Stairmaster and it made my quads big and out of porportion to the rest of my body.

I want to get leaner and not muscular. I only have 15 pounds to lose. I want to melt the fat.

I live in an apartment complex so I can't have a threadmill because I will disturb the guy living below me. I know this because I can hear the guy living above me move around the apartment. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so I can't get much equipment.

I don't know if an eliptical is a good solution. I am worried that it will make my legs muscular than the rest of my body. I do yoga 3 times a week but it doesn't melt the fat as fast as I want it to.

What do you suggest? My budget is under $1000. Thanks

well in order to lose weight, you need to first look at your diet. that is #1! then running and other forms of cardio will help. IMO, keep your 1000$ and save it until you reach your goal weight and buy some new clothes :) Seriously, in order to lose weight you don't really need much equipment. Eating right, cardio, yoga, and bodyweight exercises will get you where you want to be..
