Need a little advice please

Hello everybody,
Im new obviously so i dont know the gist of this forum but i think this is the right place for my post. I am currently 16, around 6ft 1 and 15 and a half stone. I dont want comments on how fat i am as i am ready to loose all the slodge and hopefully get fitter. Now i signed up to a gym around 6 months ago, i was visiting regularly 5 times a week for an hour at a time ( thats all i could do for my age) now i can go whenever i want for however long i want. I know i need to sort my weight out thats why im asking for advice please.

Now i am pretty tall so i dont look as bad as i could but i know i am still overweight. I am not on a very good diet as i havnt tried many foods such as salads and pastas but i think i dont like them even though i havnt tried them. I mainly eat sandwiches for my dinner ( ham, chicken, cheese) and for my tea fishfingers chicken nuggets pizzas jacket potatoes mostly junk to be honest. Although i do like my fruit apples bananas grapes ect.

When i go to the gym i dont have a set regime and to be honest with you i just swap between the things, i am sure i could benefit by doeing specific tasks. We have most fitness equipment e.g. cross runner, rowing machines, tredmill and we have a lot of weights. With me been a big lad i am pretty strong so that maybe a benefit.

So really all i am asking for is some useful tips because i need them.

Thank you and look forward to hearing from you

Hi B737,
Have a look at my blog . I've got some good information on there in relation to how many sets and reps you should be doing to achieve what you want. It also has some calculation to see many calories you should be having each day to increase or in your case to decrease weight.
From your post it sounded as though you are primarily looking to decrease weight, if this is the case, you should incorporate a lot of aerobic exercising; running, cycling, rowing, swimming etc... this will be your best chance at burning the fat. Dont get me wrong, working out in the gym is great as well, it will also help increase your metabolism and the more muscle you build the more efficiently your body can burn fats.
I've also got some basic exercises on my blog for each body part, so if you dont really have a routine, pick one or two exercises for each body part and then just choose the reps and sets for what you want to achieve. Hope it helps.
=)
