neck fat

i've started excerising for the first time in 21 yrs and i'm enjoying it. i but on weight on my top half of my body around my stomach and back recently i have seen a difference in my stomach size. but what is really scaring me is there is like a hump on the back of my neck at the bottom. its not huge but it is visible to me when i stand in the mirror sideways. anyway i'm scared i might not be able to get rid of it. can anyone give me any info about any excerices i can do to work that area of the neck.

p.s my sister told me that anywhere on your body you can pinch a big amount of skin is fat is this true

A hump on your neck? Like a hump of fat?

Just decrease your body fat % and those kind of things go away. Nothing specifically will do it. Do some jogging, swimming, biking, try to break out a good sweat. The steam room never hurts!

I've found that a good way to tighten up and make the neck area stronger is to do shoulder exercises. After a few months of doing shoulder routines, I could really see a deference in the way my neck looked. As an added bonus, I could really tell the deference in my shoulders too. :)

I think underfooter's advise is sound too.

I find that because I have bad posture I need to work that area...my shoulders come forward too much...I love working that area because it helps strenghen and releases alot of tension...

If you have bad posture, specifically your back getting into standing excercises, then either:

1) lift less weight
2) do it with your back to a wall
