height: 5'6

weight: 135 lb

desired: weight 125.

goal: to lose 10 pounds in no less then 6 weeks and to increase muscle tone by a lot.

threats to goal: eating at my work (a restaurant with good smelling food that becomes almost irresistible when working hard and stressed)

method to overcome: on days i work in the morning i will not eat before i go. this is effective for me cause once i start eating i go into eating mode and its harder for me to stop till im satisfied or keep my mind of food so if i eat before i go and then am confronted by the temptation at work it will be harder to resist even though i will be less hungry. if i dont eat till i come back i wont be in eating mode at work and i can ovoid the greasy deep fried restaurant food and desserts and have more control over the type of food i eat and the ingredients.

today i ate 1200 calories.

breakfast: whole grain toast with a scrambled egg on it.

lunch: a bowl of blueberries, strawberries, and a little banana mixed with 1/4 cup fat free greek yogurt.

dinner: a whole grain sandwich with tomato, onion, fresh spinach, dark chicken meat, and mustard.

dessert: 2/3 cup breyers vanilla ice cream with a little milk mixed in to make it soft.

i wish i woulda had a salad instead of ice cream. it was just to tempting to watch the boyfriend eat it *sigh*

hello and welcome to the forum! You are exactly where I want to be right now! I'm also 5'6 and my goal is 135. Have you always weighed 135 or did you used to struggle with weight? Are you normally an active person? I'm so curious because I think it is going to be so hard to maintain 135. Are you pretty muscular - sorry to ask you a million questions but I think you are my new inspiration. Can't wait to read more.
Have a good weekend.

hey.
well my weight has fluctuated a lot through my life as my activity and diet have. ive been as high as 155 though not for very long, and as low as 123, also not for very long. my average is about 140. how hard it is to stay this weight depends a lot in my environment. when im in a pretty area with forests and hills i love to hike and bike ride so in that situation it is easy for me but it gets more difficult when i live in a boring place. also as i have started eating healthier by replacing white bread with whole grain without any sweeteners in it, increasing my plant intake and a few other things, i am able to eat more while retaining this weight. do you like dancing? thats my favorite workout activity. if you find activities that are fun it will be much easier. when i diet my weight likes to hover at 130 but i can push it a little lower if i step it up. fell free to ask away. good luck

yesterday/ 2-26-10

breakfast:
1/3 cup fat free plain greek yogurt mixed with 1/3 cup strawberry Ice cream, 1/4 cup raw blueberries, and half a raw banana.

mixing a fruity icecream with plain yogurt is a great alternative to ice cream on its own for those whoe love ice cream and need a little now and then. less sugar, more protein, those active cultures they put in good yogurt, and it dosen melt but keeps its firm texture. this portion was satisfying yet only 250 calories including the fruit or less if you use fat free ice cream. i do try to eat healthy fats but with diary i prefer low fat or fat free.

lunch:
huge salad of 2/3 cup chicken thigh, lots of spinach, half of a tennis ball sized tomato, carrots, onion, and one scrambled egg.

dinner:
1/2 cup sweet potato, boiled, without skin, kippered herring, and left over salad from lunch.

fat 34%, carbs 41%, protein 25%. dose that look like a healthy ratio?

chart of my RDA

i think i did really good though maybe it was a bit fewer calories then was necessary. but i think thats ok once in a while so long as im getting enough nutrition and eating vitamin dense food.

well today was a fail:( at least it has been a week since i have gone over my calorie limit. i have had way to many carbs today. a slice of pizza, a bagel sandwich. ice cream, and 1 pancake with only fruit on it though no syrup. tomorrow i will do better. i an going to discipline myself by not allowing my daily treat. which is usually small and fruity like a half cup of ice cream with berries.
i think i ate about 1800 calories but im not sure. although i feel down about it i dont feel too bad cause i know the distance between the days i go over my calorie count is growing. i use to mess up about once every 3 days and now its only every 7 and its not as big of a mess up as it use to be. also i cant eat as much now that my stomach has gotten use to less food at a time it cant hold as much so i feel full and satisfied with less :)

I like your threats to goal list ;) I should add mine to my diary as well!

Welcome to the forum, we have about the same amount to lose and they say the last 10 pounds is the hardest to shift. Gah.

Hey, sorry to hear you had a bad day...but those days do happen to the best of us. Just make sure not to let one day turn into 2! We're here for you :)

Love this idea! Was actually just feeling like a snack, might try it now :)

And don't worry too much about your 1800 calorie day. At that number you wont gain anything, just wont lose so much that day.

Anyway best of luck with all of it, your current weight and goal weight are actually the same as mine...10lbs can actually look like a fairly small amount to lose when you see it in other peoples diary's, but it's definitely a lot harder than it sounds!

Emily

thanks for the welcome guys.
yesterday i was at work so it was a bit of a challenge but i made it through.

@ Korrie
there was a really yummy looking cake sitting in the break room for every one. it had peaches on top and was really moist but then your words went through my head "Just make sure not to let one day turn into 2!" so i just took one bite and left it alone :) it is really easy for one day to unravel the discipline ive worked so hard to create so that second day always seems a little extra challenging. its like it only takes one day for my body to become use to having its way and then become a spoiled brat lol.

thanks for the suport to all of you, it really dose help. i know that if i fail ill have to wright it in here and i dont want to so i use that as leverage to fight temptation.

ok so yesterday 2-28-10 here is what i had.

breakfast:
2 extra large eggs, and 1/4 cup bluberies

lunch:
1/2 cup cooked beans, a nectarine, and kipper snack (which hase a ton of vitamin B12)

dinner:
a big carrot, a small head of cauliflower, and a serving of amy's pesto pizza which is 300 calories for 1/3 pizza and all organic with a light sprinkling of fat free cheese, and broccoli and tomatoes, but its the crust and pesto sauce that make it so awesome. its one of my fav pizzas even next to high fat ones and id eat it rather or not im or a diet.

about 1100 calories all together.

Hello

I am on here trying to loose 60lb and I notice that you don't use the fat free stuff or anything with sweetner and I am glad to see I am not the only one. When I was on Weight Watcher I noticed that the people that use the fat free or diet stuff didn't really loose more weight then the people who didnt. I am a go for the quality not quantity type of person, but what ever works for a person works, but I am glad to see someone else on here that has the same way of thinking.

hi verobc
yea i dont eat a lot of fat free except sometimes with dairy and i ovoid deep fried. i dont take egg yolks out, and i dont ovoid the healthier fats like in nuts, avocado, and fatty fish.

the artificial sweeteners have been known to increase apatite and have chemicals so i dont like them. i really just want to lower my sugar intake and eat things that are naturally sweet without the added sugar like fruit to cure my sweet tooth, this is my mission, also its why i chose my name. its something im gona have to work hard on cause im not there yet.

that cool that your doing the same.

yesterday 3-1-10

breakfast;
1 orange, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup sweet potato.

lunch:
a sliver of birthday cake and 2/3 cup ice cream.

dinner:
chicken, salad of cauliflower, and spinach, and a 2 by 3 inch piece of Italian bread

i didnt go over my calorie count but i am disappointed that i ate so much sugar. i wish i woulda had either just the sliver of cake or the ice cream but not both.
on friday im going to take my sugar restriction up a notch by only having a treat every other day. a treat is anything with added sugar or something that is mostly sugar like dates

yesterday 3-2-10

lunch:
a big salad with spinach, tomato, cauliflower, and onion, and an apple.

dinner:
a chicken sandwich with tomato, onion, and a spread i made of fat free plain yogurt, garlic, salt, basil, and a little parmesan. and a sliver of cake (about an inch thick)
