Natalie's Diary

Im not really new to weight loss, I am one of those people that try it every second day but then go to the movies and have an icecream, popcorn and back home for a oversized dinner. I have however lost 11 kgs before and I plan, starting from today, to do it again.

I have never joined a weight loss forum before but because I like to write I decided that maybe this kinda thing would help, and save my friends and family from having to hear a list of what I have eaten that day.

A little bit about me for those who might end up reading this, I am a 20 year old full time University Student from New Zealand studying Maths, with 2 part jobs; Swimming teacher and Minigolf Sales Person. I'm 177cm (5 10") and currently around weigh 88 kgs. I have a lovely boyfriend called Steven who is 79 kgs which is the most he has weighted ever and has like me, over the time we have dated gained about 10kgs. It is hideous being over weight not only because it is making me feel unheathly but also because my 6 2" bf wieghs less than me!

I think the reasonz I gained weight are
1. Stress
2. Fast food (which I didnt eat untill I started dating Steven)
3. Self control issues when it comes to food amounts
4. lack of excerise

So I am going to tackle those things first by not eating fast food anymore, really concentrating on how much I eat and getting into a Simming Club and swimming at the pools more often.
Unfortunatly I have a busy lifestlye at the moment and since I have uni 9-5 each day and I have work on Sat and Sunday and I see my boyfriend in the afternoons and night I think doing this is going to be harder that it sounds.
I have decided that I am going to create a roster for my week and going to try and fight against my natural impulsiveness and stick to it as religously as one can without taking the fun out of living.

So here it is
Monday: 6am wake up 6.15 Drive 6.30-7.30am Swim, 8am Home 8.30am leave for bus, 9am on bus, 10am- 5pm uni. Afternoon See Steven and Piano Practice

Tuesday: 7am wake up. 8-9.30am Piano Practice 9.30 leave home 10am on bus, 11am-5pm uni. Home by 6pm, 7pm-8pm Swiming, Onwards Relaxing Time

Wednesday: 5.30am wake up, 6.00-7.00am swimming 8.00am on bus, 9am uni-3pm, 4.30pm Piano, 6pm Steven

Thursday: 5.30am wake up, 6.00-7.00am swimming 8.00am on bus, 9am uni-5pm, Hangout Hannah

Friday: 6.30am wakeup, 8am on bus 9am-12pm uni, 4pm Panio Lesson Easly night sleep

Saturday: 6.30 wakeup, 6.45 driving, 8am-1pm work, 2pm home, 3pm-4.30 Paino lesson, 4.30pm Steven

Sunday If possible sleep in, and muck around for the day. Otherwise 7.30am wake up, 9am-5.30pm Work, Afternoon Steven

Gah sounds tougher than I thought, o well I think the first two weeks wil be the hardest.

Wish me luck!

Hi welcome to the forum...

We're here for a common reason.. we need to loose weight and we need support!

Good luck in your endeavors I look forward to your updates.

Another thing I'll mention... You might think of yourself as a failure because you try and fail like, every other day.. (I do this constantly as well) I was thinking about this problem though.. because you do this, it probably keeps you from gaining an insane amount, you gain loose, gain loose, instead of gain gain gain. So all in all you're probably closer to you're goal then you know!

Thanks for your comment, that is a really good way to think about it. And I bet you are right, I guess its that first step thats really important; starting to loose weight and making the mental step to do it.
Good luck with your weight loss, sounds like you are on your way :)

It's awesome that you have access to a pool. Swimming is one of the most perfect forms of exercise! So since you have a good start in that area, what's your diet like?

Thanks, Living in NZ means that water sports are really accessable :) My diet at the moment is pretty much like this:
Breakfast: Ceral with low fat milk or egg on brown toast
Snack:small nut bar or fruit
Lunch:Small Sandwich, wholegrain crackers with/without cheese
Dinner: Some kind of meat with salad/some kinda greens and potatoes
I dont think it's to bad... but my mum makes really yum food and gives out the hugest portion sizes so dinner is my worst meal, but Im working on controlling myself lol
Hope things are going well with you :)

So its the end of the 2nd day of my new "lifestlye" and I am actually really loving it so far. I really really enjoy swimming and I'm not finding it half as hard as I thought it would be to make myself to go. Today I was in the 87kgs which is whatever because the main thing I have noticed in the change in energy and the "feel good" feeling my whole body has. The last time I lost the weight I mostly used dieting, and only really did one week of running and counted dancing in clubs as fitness :D This time I have just slightly changed my diet but really changed the amount of exercise I am doing.

Overall things are going great and I think this time I will keep it up for the long term
