My name's Charity - I'm 21 years old, I weigh...*gulp* 243 lbs and I'm 5'5. My goal for 2007 is to end the year at 200 lbs. It's been very easy in the past to just ignore the fact that I've been steadily gaining, but I got back some bad blood work (high insulin, low HDL cholesterol!) and I'm finding it's getting more and more difficult to run up the three flights of stairs to my apartment without getting winded.

I guess...I'm looking for some people, both my age and not, who can give me support and constructive critisism when I need it, and hopefully I can do that for others. I'm very easy to get along with - and am usually pretty good for a laugh when I get going! :)

Thanks for the welcome guys! I appreciate it. Tonight, I got rid of all the junk food in my house - last year, I started the Weight Watchers plan, and although I stayed completely faithful for four months, I lost very few lbs, more inches.

My short term goal is 10 lbs - I made a chart of things to reward myself with when I hit my goals, little things to begin with and then they increase as the goals get harder. (Example: 5 lbs lost, new lipstick, etc!)

There's no time like the present, so tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. My new years resolutions, along with my weight chart and goal chart, are posted by my computer! :)

Here we go!

mygirlfriend is the same way loosin all the inches but no pounds , im sure it will be all jus a matter of time !

Hey and welcome!!

I am 26 and 5'. When I first began about 4 months ago, I weighed 202. I spent three months eating healthy for three days and then pigging out for 4 and I barely exercised. I managed to lose 2 lbs doing that.

About a month ago, I said this is pointless. If I'm going to do this, I need to just do it. So far this month I've managed to lose 6 lbs. Tomorrow is my weigh day.

You can do this!! I suggest starting a journal on this forum. It really gives you a place to vent. Then other people in your shoes can congradulate and encourage you!!

Hi Charity! Congrats on your first day. Today is my first day too (certainly not the first day of dieting in my life, but I'm really hoping this is "it" for me -- a real, permanent lifestyle change). I'm 25 but I feel like I should be 21... it seems like yesterday in so many ways. Anyway, congratulations again and see you around!

Hello Charity!
I'm new here too so it's good to know there's a few of us in the same boat! We'd better start losing fast or this boat's gonna sink!
Kidding aside, good luck in your plan. You've made a step in the right direction by making a goal! Keep focussing on that and I'm sure you'll be fine!

Well, to add to my healthy choice and lifestyle incentive, my hospital unit is going to start a "Biggest Loser Challenge" that's starting this week and ending the last week in April! Our dietician is overseeing it and will be totaling the percent of body fat lost per week, (which is awesome, so I'll have that as a marker, too!)...and the best part?? We're all chipping in $25 to play, and the winner gets the money at the end!

The amount in the pot now?

ABOUT $500!!!!!

That'll be really good to go towards my New Years Resolution of saving $1000 by next New Year's Eve!

Now, I just got home from work so I'm going to drink a nice big glass of skim milk and eat some grapes before sacking out. :) Have a GREAT day all!

Wow! You are in an exciting spot right now! You have so much going for you! Will you start a diary? I'm looking forward to seeingyour progress. :)
