N-Large (should I drink my protein shake)

Any suggestions for cheaper protein shakes? 40 bucks for a huge tub of powder does not sound reasonable at all.

Plus I always heard that your daily value for protein was 0.4x your weight, apparently that's not what people do here. Any suggestions on boosting protein for a vegetarian (i eat dairy products) without creating some over-the-top, strict and regimented dieting program.

40 bucks for 10lbs is cheap. The problem is NLarge isn't just protein. I usually recommend that spending more than 10 dollars per pound of protein is too much.

I tend to like designer whey chocolate, or eas simply whey vanilla or chocolate.

Nlarge, look at the ingredients. It has carbohydrates and fat in it.

Other protein only powders contain protein and maybe a gram or two of fat/carbohydrates.

Nlarge2 has over 80+ carbs per serving...

Gelhead21 - it is commonly agreed that one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight is the right amount - but this can go up or down according to the individual (make sure you convert your body weight to POUNDS to do this).

I am also a vegetarian and finding it hard to get enough protein, i eat fish but not meat. i can imagine if you dont eat fish or meat it would be very difficult. If you didnt eat dairy either that would be super hard!

What I eat for protein is: eggs, milk, cheese, nuts, seeds, protein shakes, cans of tuna, other fish, peas, japanese noodles, and Quorn (vegetarian meat substitue soya). But iut is still hard.

I think abear first mentioned this website, and Ive found it great.

I want to consume enough protein to support muscle growth after my weight training, but I have fallen short nearly every day so it is very hard. Try fitday.com and let us know your progress.

Wow. Thanks for the site and tips xander, more than I could have asked. I'll let you know how it comes along. I do it fish, by the way, so I am able to get protein there. But like you said, it's still hard. I think I might end up buying some protein shake. Who knows. Thanks again.

specialk12, figure out how much you want to supplement and go to a site like dpsnutrition.net and look at the price per serving and how much protein is in each serving. Then figure out what is best for you. If you can't find the nutrition info on that product there, Google it and you'll find it. I find it helpfull to have one powder with protein and carbs and one with only protien. Ebay has good deals as well.
