Hi I am challenging myself to lose 20lbs before christmas my start weight as of 20/9/2010 is 164.68lbs want to get down to 144 so going to try and lose between 3to4lbs a week:reddevil:

Great, but I think you might want to re-evaluate your plan. The recommended safe amount to lose a week is 1% of your body weight..in your case that's 1.6 lbs a week. More than that puts an unhealthy strain upon your body. It's an unrealistic goal to aim for 3 to 4 pounds a week at your size. Aim for about a pound and a half while focusing on making proper food choices and healthy changes that you can take for the rest of your life.
 
the way I am hoping to do it, is by cutting my calorie intake down to about 2000a day and train a hour a day before hand I had not trained for around a year and was intaking around 5000 calories a day I do have a active job tho
 
I understand that, but do you know what your BMR is? I'm not so much discouraging you than trying to suggest you might be aiming too high. It is your choice though and I do wish you luck.
 
well first weigh in 27/9/2010 had a bad weekend after being good all week as I was away at a drag racing meet so only things available were carni burgers etc so my monday weigh in is 162lbs so not a bad first week 2.6lbs lose:hurray:
 
here we go again not great this week weigh in 4/10/10 now weighing in at 160.93 lbs 1.07 lbs loss :leaving:
 
right I have not posted every week because I took a couple of weeks to concentrate on my gym work just started to do more calorie stuff my weight at 9/11/10 is now 158.07 it will start getting more difficult for me now as I train muscle weight will start happening. I am not to worried tho but I have another inch to lose from round my waist so that is what I am aiming at rather than weight loss 2.86lbs loss
 
doing really well at the moment training an hour a day have now lost 2" from round my waist still strugling tho with binge eating on and off :smash:weight at the moment as of 24 11 2010 is 154.32 dont think I will make my goal for xmas but im feeling so much better loads more energy one month to go
 
Still doing well having ups and downs so not getting to obsessed about my weight only 12 days before xmas my weight as 12 12 10 is 149.91lbs thats a 14.77lbs loss :hurray: not bad considering I started at the end of october
 
Yay!! doing well!
I also aim high, though im not too disappointed if i cant make it, currently i have a general goal which is probably outside my ability, but it makes me work all the much harder i think.
