My workouts..

Hey guys,

I like running, but I also enjoy fast long distance walking. When I run I think I get my heart rate up faster, but when I walk on my treadmill really fast for a while I sweat more.

Which workout with my diet, and weight lifting schedule is better for toning up?
 
First off, lose the notion of "toning up". That is just a glorifed way of saying lowering bodyfat, but it sounds better so magazines roll with it. Am I correct in thinking that you are trying to lose some pounds of fat? If so, you can achieve it.

I really think you should focus on weight training, doing heavy, compound lifts. It will do wonderful things for your body composition. When it comes to cardio, varying levels of intensity is key. Some days should be very intense (read up on HIIT), some days steady state walks or runs are a good help. Then of course, your diet has to be spot on, that is 80% of the battle.
