My workout routine - thoughts?
Here is my current exercise/work-out regimen. I'm fairly happy with it - but I do find myself getting bored with it every so often. I try and vary it now again, but since I'm not a member of the gym, this is difficult. This is a typical week:
Mon -
1 hour (of moderate-high impact cardio) - trampolining (1 hour) 15 minutes of jump roping (my typical routine consists of 3 minutes jumping, then 30 seconds as fast as possible, followed by a 30 second break etc. Basically interval training.)
15 minute walk.
Tuesday -
40 minutes of steps (HR around 165 +)
20 minutes of skipping
30 minutes of weights working on shoulders and arms using dumbbells and press-ups, followed by abdomen/stomach using sit-ups, crunches and stretches etc.
Wednesday -
30 minutes of walking/running/sprinting (similar to interval training,) 30 minutes of steps.
40 minute walk.
Thursday -
1 hour of steps + 30 minutes of weight training - using a combination of weights/squats to work on legs/thighs + exercises for buttocks, back and legs.
Friday -
40 minutes of aerobic exercise video. 40 minutes of trampolining. 10 minutes of jump roping.
Saturday - 30 minutes of walking/running/sprinting (interval-style.) 30 minutes of jump roping. 30 minutes of steps.
30 minutes of weight training (arms/shoulders again.)
So all in all this works out at about eight hours of high-impact exercise, an hour of mild exercise and two hours of weight training a week.
Are there any modifications I should make to this program? If so, what?
I'm looking to lose around 2lb per week and am on a calorie-controlled diet.
