I was just wondering if someone "in the know" could rate my workout and give me suggestions as how to improve it, what I should or shouldn't be doing. At the gym I have been trained to use the machines but was never given a workout plan to attain my goals. Also I have a few questions. First, I now weigh 305 lbs and have been using the gym for the last 4 months with good progress. 30lbs lost.
Here is my routine:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Treadmill 1 hour at 3.3mph( I up incline to 3 at 10 min markers for 3 min at a time, at the 10,20,30,40,50 min mark). Stationary bike for 15 min set on lvl 13, squats 3x15@250lbs, rows 3x15@90lbs, presses 3x15 @70lbs and I finish with the eliptical set at lvl2 for 15 min. This takes me appx. 1.75 hours.
Tuesday, Thursday: 1 hour treadmill 3.3 mph (same inclines), 15 min stationary bike set @ 13, 15 min eliptical set @ 2.
Saturday,Sunday: Usually walk the dog for 30 min or so.
Also spread out during the week I walk the dog sometimes 30 min up to 1 hour, sometimes it is 2x a week and others 5, it varies. Also at home I do some bicep curls but really have not set a schedule for doing them.
What changes should I make? Should I just keep going with this routine adding more weight as I see fit? Is there a need to do more than 1 hour on the treadmill or should I lower the time to 30 min and add 15 min to both the elliptical and stationary bike? Should I be lifting more weights and building muscle? This routine does tire me out, I try to keep my heart rate around 140 and I get sweating really good. What I want out of this is to Loose Weight so i figured stick to mostly cardio, is this correct? My ultimate goal would be to be able to jog. With that in mind......Help! P.S Thanks in advance
