My Weight Loss Story !

Hi ! I am a looong time lurker and I finally decided to join and share my story and get some support. For starters my name is Stephanie and I'm a 20 year old college student. I gained a lot of weight last year and at only 5'3 inches tall I weighed in at about 200 pounds. I have no pictures to share of that lol.

Anyway, I started weight watchers and I got down to about 185 and I stopped paying for the service and I maintained that weight for a while and then this March I started again and now I'm down to 162ish. This is the thinnest I've been in... I don't even know! I'm doing ww now but on my own and it's working well. I'm kinda at a slow point but I want to loose another 12 lbs and see how I feel and look at 150. According to the BMI I should be no more than 140 lbs but I think I'll be much too thin at 140. Anyway here are some pictures of me now. I wear mostly mediums now down from XL and I don't know what size jean I am but my size 11 juniors are now big on me. Once I get some money I'll go shopping and find out lol.

I'll update when I loose another 5 lbs. Sorry the pics I have now are kinda crappy. (ps that bikini is new and I actually wore it to the beach ! first time I ever did that ! )

***UPDATE**** 6/30/08

Well I went shopping yesterday because my jeans barely stay on the widest part of my hip. I tried on a size 8 pair of jeans from old navy and they fit! I used to be as high as a size 14! This is the smallest I've been in my whole life and I am THRILLED! Unfortunately, these jeans were $37 not the $15 I thought they were so sadly I didn't get them :( BUT! I have a gap gift card and I'll be going to the outlet this weekend to find a pair of new jeans so I'm excited for that. Also, I'm down to 159. 9 lbs to go! Sorry no pics yet, I just got home from my first day of lifeguarding (which will hopefully help in my weight loss) and I am EXHAUSTED

more soon!

I'm still at 159 ish but I've started running several times a week for a least a half hour and I feel like I may have swapped some fat with muscle. I need to keep doing it if I want to loose the tummy. Anyway, here's the most recent picture I have of me at 159.

Any tips for losing the last 9 lbs? It's making me nuts. I'm eating healthily and sticking to the WW plan pretty well and now I'm running but I'm not noticing a big change. What gives?

***Update*** 9/16/08

So I am 151, one lb away from my goal weight of 150! It has taken me since March of 2007 to loose a total of 50 lbs. I am so happy words can't describe it. I went from a size 14/15 to an 8, a L to a m/s. Once I reach 150 I am going to continue my WW diet and try for my ideal weight of 140. However, I won't be as "strict" in doing this because I am happy where I am now, I just figure if I could loose another 10 lbs just doing what I've been doing then why stop? Here is a comparison of what I looked like this same exact time last year to how I look this year.

I was 180ish here.. like 185. I can't believe how FAT I look, and at the time I thought I looked thin because I had lost 20 lbs from when I started this journey lol

This is me exactly a year later

I am 151 in this picture.

Comments, suggestions, feedback is really appreciated !

5'3" and 160? I'd never guess that looking at your pics... looks like 130-140... and looking really good at that! You're a real cutie! If I saw you at the beach, I'd be staring!

Hi! Congratulations on your weight loss so far - you have done very well! I think you look great. We are close in height and weight.

Keep up the good work and you'll reach your goal in no time!

cheers

You look fantastic. And I agree with everyone, you look about 130 lbs not 160.It's so funny how different everyone carries weight.Congrats!

Hey girl...glad you came out to share your story. Congrats on the loss so far ~ you are looking goooood!

great job so far!

when I started WW I thought I wanted to get to 140 to get into my range. then realized ok, I want to be 135. at least so I can be lifetime thru WW. initially I thought I'd be perfect at 140 but now that I'm just under, not quite to goal, I realize that I want to be 130. If not lower.

goes to show, you never know until you get there. :)

You know it's so true. I think that being so overweight that 150 sounded so thin but now that I'm only 11 pounds away I realize that I have potential to look even better so why stop?

Congratulation! Amzing job, keep it up and I'm sure you'll hit your goal.
You'll be beach ready in no time ; }

Looking Good!

Wow, you look amazing, I would have never guessed what your weight was.

As for losing the last 9 lbs, I would say make sure any cardio you do is at a very high intensity, you need to get your heart rate up and keep it up. Interval training is also a very good tool that you can do with your cardio.

As for nutrition, make sure your calories aren't too low, I'm not sure how this applied to WW however. You can also try cutting out little things here and there to see if it makes a difference. A lot of people lose a bit more if they cut out artificial sweeteners or processed carbs (if you still eat any).

thanks DaMan, I think I got lucky in that my legs, arms and back are naturally toned (god knows why lol) so I think most of my weight is muscle and not fat. My biggest problem area is my stomach, it is not toned in any way shape or form. I do run at a very high intensity (for me at least), I am dripping sweat by the time I'm done lol. I'm thinking I should add in some kind of core exercises but I'm unsure of what exactly I need to do. I was never big with exercising.

Yea I have the same problem, I'm like 5-10 lbs away from my final goal weight but my stomach is still terribly untoned with way too much fat while the rest of my body is fine. I'm probably gonna have to spend a month or 2 getting it to the point where I'm happy.

Try throwing some intervals into your cardio as many experts claim it helps burn more fat. Core exercises may make your abs stronger/more exposed but there will still be the fat on top of it.

So I weighed myself this morning and I was 156!! I'm excited about this as it seems I'm loosing weight overnight. I was 159 on monday and today I'm 156. I'm so happy that I'm 6 lbs from my goal !! I hope to be 150 (or less) by the end of August.
