My weight loss plan

HI, I am trying to get rid of those few extra pounds and here is my method, please tell me what you think.


I am a 19 y/o male with a current weight of 230lbs, height of 6'0''.


I really want to drop those extra pounds with a target of 180-190.


My plan:


I wake up early and do a 2 mile run(if you can call it running, but its two miles nonetheless) and do 30 situps/pushups.


Then I go to school from 9am-2pm.


Then I go to a local gym and do 30 minutes of cardio and do a weight training program that the trainer there recommends. With a protein shake after.


My diet has never been that great, and I am trying to cut back and eat better. My liquid intake is water all day, with a cup of black coffee in the morning.


Anything that yall can recommend that I do? And will I see progress with this plan?

Careful you don't overtrain. Strength training needs a suitable amount of rest to be of benefit.

And a set number of reps (30 pushups/situps) isn't productive. aim to work your muscles to the point of failure.


You should see some progress with your plan, can't say if it'll be good or sustained progress but that's something you always have to discover yourself.

Alright, I take the weekends to rest physically. But I still run on Saturday. As far as the pushups/situps, that just about IS failure, I used to be able to do them alot better but I have lost that. I know it will take experimentation, but would this hopefully yield the safe 2lbs/week loss? Thanks
 
I know what you mean, I used to be able to do 200 situps in 2 minutes... gonna take a while but I'll get it back.
