My situation

I'm 6 feet 1 and I weight 220 lbs. I have flabby arms, and gut and starting to gain man boobs. THe only place that I don't have a lot of fat is my face and my legs. I've had my mind on trying to lose weight for a long time. I'm Bangladeshi, and genetically I think most people from this country are skinny. I was skinny when I was a kid. I'm 18, and I got fat during my middle school years. I've been overweight ever since. I work at Taco Bell currently so I guess it helps, although sometimes I eat the food if I stay long shifts so I guess that would set back any progress I would get from my labor. People tell me to get a membership at at health club, take the slim fast diet, but I don't like that. My diet usually consists of curry. Curry is a south Asian cuisine which is boiled white rice and toppings. Usually all the toppings are cooked in a lot of oil, no matter if it's meat or veges. A usual plate of this food can weight over a pound. Also I drink a lot of brown tea. Brown tea is made with sugar and milk, so I think that contributes to my weight. I really don't know what else to eat though. I've gotten so used to eating big curry meals and occasional snack foods that I don't why what diet to go on that's healthy and will make me cut weight also. Also I'm very lazy in the morning. If I don't work I usually sleep until it's 12. Today I woke up at 1:20 pm. I think I should wake up early get a good breakfast workout. But I can't get enough motivation. I've tried to follow a exercise routine but after seeing no kind of progress I've given up on most of them. Most days I sit in the house all day on my computer doing absolutely NOTHING. Sometimes I do some exercise but I really need to have a exercise plan and diet plan.

Does anyone have any advice who is in my weight and height range or knows what type of things I should be doing or eating? If I get a good enough weight loss plan I'll stick to it like my life depended on it but I really dont know what to do.

Put first things first

Ziffon,

I am 6 foot 2 and 220 lbs just like you. I guess the difference is that this time last year I weighed 310 lbs. I got to the point where it sounds like you are today and decided to make a change in my life. Based on your post the biggest problem I see is you are looking to change your situation but keep doing the things that got you into it. If you do what you have always done you will always have what you got. As far as diet is concerned I recommend you pick up a copy of LINK REMOVED BY MODERATOR to learn about how to eat right. The book will tell you everything you need to know, but be fore warned you will have to change what you are doing if you want to get results. For exercise I recommend you start with doing some form of cardio for 30 minutes a day. It doesn't matter what it is as long as you are up and breaking a sweat. Start there and you are on your way. Hope that helps!
