Hey I would like your guy’s input on my plan, maybe a bit of background first so you can get to know me.
Around July, 2 years ago I weighted in at 385 pounds. I found a diet book in my basement it was a low carb diet book. So I decided what the hell, trying to eat less doesn’t seem to help. Over a year and 4 months later I lost 165 pounds weighing in at 225, which lasted all of a week then I went up to 230-235 for a couple months and things were steady. Pressure to eat out at school and a family tragedy and I went back up to 250 then a vacation that bumped me up to 260. (Yikes) So for the past couple weeks I have been learning how to eat healthy and lose weight on a balanced diet, thus giving up the low carb lifestyle. I find my body feels a lot better eating this way and I am not deprived completely from some of my favourite foods. For example my calves don’t ache or cramp and my muscles feel strong like when I was 385. I think that I need to live this way or else I will stall at 225 on nothing but 40 grams of carbs a day or maybe worse.
So this is what I have come up with and what I have been doing for the last week for the most part. (I currently weigh 250 pounds and am 5’11 on a fairly large frame.)
A balanced diet 50% carbohydrates (200g), 25% Fat (60g), 25% Protein (120g) on 2000 calories a day or a bit less.
As well I will do daily cardio and a solid weight lifting workout three times a week. I do 30 minutes cardio everyday except for probably Sunday. Right now I like sporting the elliptical. I seem to get my weight routine done in around half an hour. Thus completing an hour work out.
I’ve been burning around 600 – 850 calories on my works outs. This brings down my calorie intake to around 1150 –1400 calories. Resting I need about 2600 calories so this is a deficit of 1200 - 1450 calories per day. Is this too much or hazardous? I know that a 200 pound male my age is supposed to be able to have about 2200 calories so this should be more then enough of a cut to get me there. Tell me if you think too big.
I way in at 250 right now and my goal is to be 205 pounds by the end of the year and look good with some muscles showing not just skinnier.
Here is a day of my food log that is generally what I eat.
I'm excercising more now but this is basically how I've been eating, I'd appreciate any tips or anything you can input on.
Thanks
Cameron
