My personal journey

Hello everyone!!!
I am new to this forum, I have been looking for an active forum to get involved with, looks like I have found it. That is if you all will have me.

A lil about me, I am fairly close to the end of my own personal weightloss goal. I began September '08 at 256lbs at 5'4" (yuck) I was miserable and hated the fact I was considered morbidly obese. (What is the deal with the whole morbidly thing). Anyway, through initially nutrition and then adding in exercise, a little over a year later, I weigh 128lbs, having lost 128lbs. I feel fabulous. My goal is 127, hope to reach it soon. I just turned 40, have four sons and in the best shape of my life.

I want to tell everyone out there who is attempting what I have done, stay strong and committed, it is possible. Most importantly, remember knowledge is definitely power, arm yourself with all info you can get and go for it.

Wow, congrats on such an amazing weight loss Chrissy! This is a great board and I'm sure you will lose your last pound in no time!

Wow. That is incredible. I have no idea why the "morbidly" word comes into play. Perhaps it is supposed to be motivational? Not

Welcome Chrissy, it is nice for you to join us and maybe to share a bit more about your story to inspire people who still have a long way to go and feel close to giving up.

The morbid part of the obesity is not supposed to be inspirational, it is a medical term which means "leading to other diseases". A high morbidity means that long term problems will/can result from the underlying intial problem (in this case the obesity). It has that qualification because people with such high BMIs tend to get diabetes type II and of course all the associated problems, high blood pressure, cardiac problems, joint problems, back problems, mobility problems which lead to a further increase in weight which makes it all worse.
You should never go to bed without knowing one more thing than you did yesterday!

Have a nice weekend, Camy

Thanks to all who have replied and welcomed me.

I would like to contribute any information that I can. I know losing weight is a dificult task and its so easy to give up. I have continuosly searched for new information and adapted my diet and workout plan along the way. I have to maintain a food log to keep on track, I can tell you everything that I have eaten for the past 17 months. If I can help anyone, I will make every effort to do so.

Thanks again,
Chrissy
