My P90X Journey - Diet Journey

I hope you all don't mind, but it will help if I log and vent each day through this.. it's been a rough 3 days, and this will help me stay on course.

Today is day 3.. yesterday I did Plyometrics, and my whole body hurt when I woke up. I had doubts if I could do the Arms/Shoulders/Abripper today because of pain.

After warmups, I felt looser, and I was ready to go. I did what I could during the first half of the workout, and then came the chair dips. Because my legs are still in pain from yesterday, this were near impossible.

I didn't let that slow me down. I did another tri-exercise to kill the time.

I busted through the rest of the exercise, but hit an obstacle during the abs. Both sides of my abs seriously cramped up halfway through. I rested and tried more, but it got worse. I realized then, I hit my ceiling.

Total workout - 62 minutes (out of 70).

Lunch today is homemade chicken salad with dijon mustard, green onions and celery. After lunch snack, soy nuts, and dinner some Halibut with wild rice and asparagus.

Cardio workout tomorrow, so I hope my legs are better. yikes.

It was rough moving around yesterday.. today is a little better..

Yoga X today. My body is WAY too sore for this. I got through most of it, but up and down over and over wasn't easy with my legs so sore. Today was by far my less strenuous workout. I'll have to pick it up tomorrow.

Egg Whites with turkey for breakfast.. P90X meal plan asks for 6oz of Steak over arugala for lunch. I'm not complaining, just seems strange to eat steak already??

I'm kinda bummed I didn't break much of a sweat today. Maybe it's designed like that, midweek?

This program looks so hard....My husband bought it a few year ago cause he wants to muscle up! He never used it all he did was open the box and do the fitness test! Right now I am trying to get in shape but by mid summer when i have a bit more strenght and stamina I am starting it...that way we didn't buy it for nothing! I think I am gonna keep reading this journal so I know what to expect!!!! Good Job this Week!!!!

there is a "Lean" program in it.. you do the workouts everyday, and it's not as strenuous. Add that to your diet plan, and you'll be WELL on your way..

you should do it!! I'm only 4 days into it, so we can help each other through it!! Your hubby should try the regular workout.. it's tough, but feels damn good when you're done.

The Hubby keep saying I will this summer.....I will went I can buy all the equipment in there always an excuse lol. In a couple of weeks we will be buying a DVD for the Living room and then I will see the fitness test I want to make sure I don't injure myself I have to little ones to care for! I will keep reading on here and I will let you know when I start..I am gonna look that Lean Program tonight just to check out the menu in there too ,I don't eat red meat so I will probably have to play around for the menu and I will have to try to eat fish, I eat tuna but other fish I have a hard time with ...

re: equipment:

workout mat
weights ($29.99 for a set of Golds Gym weights at Walmart works just fine)
pull up bar for the door

that's really all you need.

re: diet

in the diet plan, they have a list of proteins. you can substitute any protein with another. So, no need to have red meat OR fish. You can replace with chicken, turkey, tofu and so on..

I hope you do it!! After the 2nd day, you'll crave doing it more.

The problem for us is the pull up bar cause the way the doorway are done it's kind of artsy and there is nothing to hook it on but I remember reading that the Elastic band or resistance band could be used to replace the pull up bar so I have the weight so all i need really is the mat.....I am really wanting to try this. You look so into it, it's really motivating! l just need the DVD player ours died of old age lol 10years for a dvd is old I guess!

=) great!!!

I have that problem with the doorways.. I had to put the pullup bar in another room.. hit pause when it's up to that and do pullups in the laundry room.

If you get the bands, no need for the weights. It's a way to save money.. unless hubby is lifting a bunch of weight and looking to get ripped.

That is really the reason he got p90X he is close to beeing underwieght so loosing weight is not what he is wanting we have the weight already and the pull up bar I will figure something out...
When there is a will there is a way!

I BROUGHT it today. I feel great. It was legs and shoulders. Burned like hell, but felt great. THIS is how I should feel after a workout (not like yesterday's yoga experiment!)

Legs feel a lot better today, but I'm sure they'll burn tomorrow.

Recovery drink now.. a turkey burger with some homemade chili/honey sauce for lunch.. and it's Friday night, so I'm gonna have a fancy dinner.. maybe make some fancy white fish!!

Since Monday, I have moved over one belt hole. It's not 100% comfortable, but if I WANTED to, I could. I'm not going to. I'm going to measure this based on comfort. At least I know there's progress.

PS, I made Quinoa last night with my chicken, and it was OK, until the sauce dripped into it.. then it was VERY tasty. Kinda like it!!

Silvr, I am not very good at them either. But with the help of a chair, it makes it doable.. eventually those muscles will strengthen up, and you won't need a chair! I'll let you know how many weeks until I don't need it!!

Ok so I looked the program over and if I get my hands on a DVd player this weekend I am doing it!!!! Starting Monday! I will let you know how it goes!!!!
Congrats on following the program all week.......!

great! I will be here for my complete 85 days left, and I'll stick around until you are done, too!! There are times you'll need to talk to someone who's struggled!! =)

congrats on making the move!

I LOVE KENPO. It's punching and kicking for 50+ minutes. Crosses, and hooks, and back kicks.. 25-30 reps each. It was my favorite workout of the week.

I was drenched when I finished, and wanted more!!! Just means I have to bring it harder next time. I'd like to be wasted by the end.

Recovery drink for breakfast..
Lunch, I'm going to make a low-fat chicken salad over spincach.
Dinner, tofu with broccoli (asian style).. maybe try out some Miso soup?

Best I've felt on a Saturday in YEARS.

Sunday was tough. Didn't sleep great last night, but pushed through the chest and back workout. Hearts beating and I'm sweating.

I'm going to make a nice lunch soon of turkey florentine. Delicious.
