Well, as this is my first post on this website, I thought I should preface it by giving a bit of background information: I've attempted to lose weight in the past, but none of those plans have really gotten me anywhere. I've, at the very least, prevented myself from gaining any extra weight these past two years, but I'm not so interested in maintaining my weight as I am in seeing it drop a few notches.
1) How much weight do you want to lose?
I want to, at the very least, knock off 40 lbs. from my current weight of 200 lbs. I'm 5'9.
2) What is the time frame for reaching your target weight?
I'm giving myself one year to lose whatever weight I can. Assuming I can drop at least 1 lb. of fat every week, I should actually lose more weight than I plan to at the moment (This is only if everything goes relatively smooth, which I doubt it will!).
3) How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
I'm definitely into cardiovascular exercises, but not so much into resistance training. I don't have any weights at home and I don't have access to a gym near by, but I can definitely improvise makeshift weights should the occasion warrant it.
4) Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
I think that I really just need a constant stream of motivation and, more importantly, advice. I've done a lot of independent research (Which hasn't gotten me anywhere), but I think it's time that I accept the fact that I need a lot of help.
5) How realistic is your goal?
Pretty realistic, I think. Although I'm more than happy to start smaller.
6) When will you start?
Tomorrow, 7/26/2010 and track my progress until (and hopefully keep going past) 7/26/2011.
7) At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
I'm hoping at least 186-7. Although I need to stay extra vigilant with the winter months.
8) Why do you want to lose weight?
Better self image, improved health, and I'm tired of procrastinating.
9) Do you eat when you are not hungry?
All the time! Which is a habit I'm going to have to force myself to break.
10)Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Unfortunately so, especially when I'm in a foul mood (Which is surprisingly often)...another habit that I'm going to have to monitor with extreme frequency.
Wish me luck!
