My journey to success!!

Hi my name is Shaun I'm 32 years old born in Cornwall England, i have joined the site, because I'm making a conscious decision to Train for local athletics events, I've always been faster than average, but never trained, so over the last few weeks ive developed my training plan.

This will be hard for me for many reasons, one because i used to take drugs, I've not done any training for over 10 years, and i smoked 30 a day until recently, and although my fitness is above average somehow, its got major room for improvement, my endurance is shocking but 100 mtr times are not great (only done some preliminary runs) but Consistent in the 11.7s-12 flat, my best is 11.2s my major ability is the drive section yet my weakest is the 60mtr and beyond, i run the 200 worse but obviously fitness is a major part of that, as its easier to maintain 100m.

I don't know a lot about technique but my running style is pretty good, ive not used a block start or spikes, so i know that i can shave some easy 100th's off at some point, but I've aimed for 4 years training, for potentially, Rio Olympics. (hopefully) ive had military training to basic marine level, when i did some service, but not that its going to help me now apart from knowing what needs to be done.

At current i run and then be sick because my body is really reacting to over exertion, Ive dealt with this before, but that's what smoking does to you.. i hope i can learn of more experienced runners here, and maybe pick up a gear or two.
I estimate that i will at some point in training run under 11, aiming for 10.3 the qualifying time for major events.

thanks for having me

shaun
