My Journey so far ... From 400lbs and dropping!

I have been on my diet now for exactly 7 weeks and now weigh 394.2 pounds. When I first got on the scales 7 weeks ago I was almost in tears seeing my weight at 440 pounds. I didn't think I had any chance of actually sticking to this diet but losing over 40 pounds in 7 weeks has really motivated me to stick at it and reach my goal. My goal of 220 pounds may still be a long way off but I know I will make it. My biggest motivation comes from my 4yo son and 20mth old daughter - the idea of not seeing them grow up is what scared me into doing something about my weight in the first place. My wife has also helped by writing up exercise and weight training programs. I may only be 7 weeks in but even if it takes 2 years, I will reach my goal of 220 pounds and look forward to the day my skinny guy inside is free.

I'm Australian but have written my weight in pounds as that is what everyone else has done and I didn't want to get into the whole metric system issue... lol

Week 1 - 430.3lbs

Week 2 - 423.9lbs

Week 3 - 418.0lbs

Week 4 - 411.6lbs

Week 5 - 406.1lbs

Week 6 - 401.0lbs

Week 7 - 394.2lbs

Week 8 - 389.8lbs

Week 9 - 385.4lbs

Week 10 - 381.0lbs

Week 11 - 377.3lbs

Week 12 - 372.0lbs

I know what you mean about feeling like crying after stepping on the scale. I've been there. It can seem soooo daunting and hopeless, but don't let despair get the best of you.


You have an amazing source of inspiration in your family and you have the motivation to change your life to live a healthy, happy life with them.


There is great support here and you're already doing a great job! Keep going strong, don't give up, and you will be successful!

That's awesome. That's really great progress to loss that much that fast. Don't give up!!!! This forum is here to give you inspiration. We are all here for one reason or another but with the same goal to let our "skinny guy inside" out!
 
62.7 lbs lost so far and I have my 'official' 3 month weigh in on Weds. I have found that the weight has dropped off pretty easily because of my size but last week was my smallest loss due to being in bed sick for much of it. I know it won't come off so easily when I get even lighter but I am up for any challenge and have really enjoyed the journey so far. Has it been hard? Hell yes... but looking at my kids and knowing I am doing this for them is all the motivation I need to continue. Cheers
 
30 mins Walking, strength training and finding the 1 hour I spend riding my quad bike a day really takes it out of me...lol. Also started boxing which is so hard but loving it.
