my journey...from 275..to less than 200

I don't see how getting healthy is not worth it. I mean so many more things open up. airplane rides are soo comfortable now, and i'm not even at goal. clothes are cheaper.. MUCH cheaper. i always say i feel the same when people ask if i feel different, but i guess if i compare lifestyles, i would say i am a lot more active and it is nice. my body is doing me well. most of my fat is right in the center now, and because i did weights so much with cardio, as i lose fat i gain a very nice form, which is really nice. its pretty rewarding. i get a lot of compliments now lol. so i'd definitely say its worth it. it seems that any girl who said i was cute when i was bigger think i'm pretty hot now lol.

well thats cool man...thanks for the info...i always like hearing positives when it comes to losing weight cause it really helps motivate me to keep going...thanks to all who have commented so far...its really helpful...

goodluck..hit the weights hard

haha..thanks imtico...im actually going to start that this week with hitting the weights on monday wednesday and friday... along with throwing in cardio and abs on tuesday, thursday, and saturday....so hopefully that will help a lot...

Congrats on you loss, I am in a very similar boat as you...
I started out at 285lbs and am currently at 264lbs, I haven't noticed much of a physical difference, but my energy level has increased greatly and I am no long sick, tired, and out of breath all the time...:D
So what is your current diet and exercise program like? Mine is high in proteins (egg whites, boneless/skinless chicken, cottage cheese), also a lot of broccoli/cauliflower, salad, and fruits...
As for my exercise I fast walk/jog for 25-30mins every night and play tennis once a week for 2 hours, also some occasional weight training with some dumbbells I purchased from Wal-Mart...:D

nice...yeah..we are in a similar boat......my diet mostly consists of fruits, vegetables, and healthier meats like boneless skinless chicken and fish...which i cook in healthier ways like boiling and baking.....as for exercise...im starting a weekly schedule of different muscle groups on mondays wednesdays and fridays...and on tuesdays thursdays and saturdays im going to spend my time doing cardio and ab workouts.....i have a bench and some free weights so most of my exercises will be with the bar and free weights.......im hoping that i will start to see better results with this new workout schedule.....

You're doing a great job so far! At this point, don't worry about the loose skin or stretchmarks, get the weight off. You can fine tune later. You're not going to stop trying to be healthy and lose weight because you might have some loose skin or stretchmarks, are you? Of course not.

Keep up the great work! It's always a work in progress. When I was 255, I always thought that 180 would be when I didn't see the fat around the middle, but it looks like it's going to have to be about 160 for me. I'm at 171 now and it's still there, but I keep plugging away at it!

You can do this!

Hey man, I'm 21. Nice to see another person about the same age as me...

I've lost about 21 lbs...about the same as you. People told me my face looks thinner, and I seem to have lost that fat flaps on the sides, I hated that. Still got man boobs though, lol.

I started at 241, I'm now 220. What I do is alternate excerise and eat better. I used to be a really heavy soda drinker, drinking a 12 pack of regular soda in 2 days.

I still drink diet soda, but I drink alot more water, I started the couch 2 5k program, which is designed to get you running from nothing to 5k (3 miles) in 2 months.

It hurts my legs though, the bone in my leg hurts, so I only do it once every 3 days or so. What I do is bike ride one day for 30-1 hour, do the stationary bike one day for an hour, do strength training on my wii fit every other day (take protein drink afterwards...I do 6 push ups with side planks 3 times, 60 jack knifes, and 30 lunges as well as some other stuff, it lasts 30 minutes)

Then I run some days....I'm only on week 2 but I've noticed progress in running slowly.
Man you should make a diary, man I have one. Track what you eat, put into the calories per day a long with you exercise. When you have a deficient in your energy in = energy out, you lose weight. Keep it up man!

thanks nolarob....185 was more of a pretty big goal/step for me...im not really sure what i will look like at that point but im sure i will reassess when i get there you know? im not worried about the stretchmarks or loose skin very much anymore...i dont think it will matter very much...i do want to be healthier and fit which is more important to me now than what my skin ends up looking like...

yeah...i know....it is nice to run into people of similar age...

i havent really been able to convince myself fully that i look any different than before but i dont really care at this point...im focused and working hard and i know results will come...i just want to be healthy and slowly work into a healthier lifestyle...

I drink more water than anything now....i try to only eat the healthier natural foods...i cook my own food a lot now...find healthy recipes online....lol...i used to drink so much pop....it was the only thing i drank....just like you...a 12 pack wouldnt last long....

i have a weight training bench in my garage along with a bar and weights for that bar so most of my weight training revolves around that...i also have a jumprope for cardio...havent been able to get myself to start going for runs yet....but ive been sticking to my workout schedule fairly well...so thats good.

Ive thought about making a diary but i wasnt really sure if i should even bother this far in...i dont know...ill think about it....i do track my calories though...

Good job man! I'm still keeping on. Moved off campus this year for Uni and I'm cooking 100% of my own food for the first time. Makes it really really easy to avoid bad choices.

Since I moved I havent kept serious about the gym though I did get a membership to the university one. My eating has imrpoved if anything though to compensate. Anyways it isnt about me, just sharing my experiences since we are in a similar spot.

Keep it up with the workouts (they help so much it's crazy) but always remember that what you eat is the key more than anything else!

Update

Well....its been a while since ive updated but ive gotten down to 230 pounds...i know that there is definitely a difference in my body because of my clothes being looser and having to wear belts...unfortunately to myself i dont look too different....ive also got a better camera to take pics with from now on so thats good...anyway...here are the pics...

I can tell a massive difference. Keep up the good work. You've done great so far. I'm sure people have been commenting on your weight loss left and right.
